My current gaming-experience
I got God Of War 1 & 2 for X-Mas... I started playing God Of War 1... Not a bad game for a Hack and Slash type...
Has anyone else played these, what was your take on them???

Well I'll be! A friend of mine gave me a gift card for Christmas, and one of the games I used it on was God of War 1, and I've been playing that one mostly.
It reminds me of the beat 'em ups back in the day, the Golden Axes, the Double Dragons, just more stylish and with boobies. It still maintains cheap hits (how come they can interrupt my attack, but I can't interrupt theirs? cheap!), and sometimes the level design feels awkward and I've gotten lost a few times.
Otherwise, not bad. I'm about 2/3's of the way through, and if I had to rate it so far, I'd give it a 7/10.

Yeah I was kind of surprised when those popped up on the screen... I started thinking to myself, I wonder how many 10 years have ended up with this game because of parents that don't pay attention...Vracar wrote:It reminds me of the beat 'em ups back in the day, the Golden Axes, the Double Dragons, just more stylish and with boobies.
And the guy is something else when it comes to the women... The man has 2 women lying in his bed, naked, and they want him to come to bed, what does he say, "We're Finished, Get Your Things And Be Gone When I Return"... lol
I'd have to give it about a 7 or 8 out of 10 as well... I'm not sure about how far through I am, I saved it at Poseidon's Challenge last night, right after getting the Trident...Vracar wrote:Otherwise, not bad. I'm about 2/3's of the way through, and if I had to rate it so far, I'd give it a 7/10.

I'm still only playing Left 4 Dead. Anything else has fallen by the wayside.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
I've actually been playing a whole bunch of games, thanks to Blockbusters game pass. Here's the lowdown so far...
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
Boring story, repetitive gameplay but at least you can kick people off of high ledges. And there's branching plot lines if anyone actually cared enough to see the differences.
The Bourne Conspiracy
A decent game that worships it's hand to hand combat on a high alter even though it's overdrawn and lame. Also loves quicktime button matching.
Mortal Kombat Versus DC
First fighting game with a well told story. If only the story didn't suck.
Tomb Raider: Underworld
A good followup to Legend which managed to tell a new story without introducing any new characters. Camera could use work.
Gears of War 2
You play as a group of awesome people using awesome weapons not for good, or evil...but for awesome! Things blow up.
Call of Duty 5: World at War
Did you play Call of Duty 4? It's like that but with nazi's and the japanese imperials. And very short.
Quantum of Solace
Did you play Call of Duty 4? It's like that but with Bond. And very short.
*****Brief note! The company Treyarch, if that's how you spell it, made both Call of Duty 5 and Quantum of Solace. They've got a theme.
Tom Clancey's Rainbow Six 2: Vegas
They took the first Vegas and added a run button. The rest is about the same. Still fun though.
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2
They took the first one and did nothing. It's exactly the same. Still fun though.

But for tonight, I'm going to go see Jeff Dunham and his Puppets...

Prince of Persia (the new one)
Very pretty game that requires your input every so often, but not regularly. Combat drags.
Far Cry 2
Imagine Grand Theft Auto in the jungle, everyone shoots at you and you have malaria. Much longer than it should have been. Anticlimactic ending.

Golden Axe: Beast Rider
It acts as an almost perfect modern reproduction of the original. The combat is entertaining but extremely repetitive, the farther you get into the game, the more of a pain in the ass it becomes and the story is unnecessary. It doesn't have co-op for some reason. Tribal chick looks best in classic bikini.

I start God Of War Part 2... I saw the Deception from Zeus coming, they didn't hide it very well... But since Kratos was Drunk with Power I guess that's why he didn't see it coming... I haven't gotten very far into it yet though, but it seems like it will be pretty good, I did like the flying around on the Pegasus, but I've only gotten to the caves as of now... Gonna go play some more tonight...

Most recent lineup of PS3 Games:
Metal Gear Solid 4: Stopped playing it, tiresome and frustratingly complex story which only a die hard fan who's life revolves around the MGS4 universe would understand. I personally don't have the time for this s**t.
Mirror's Edge: After falling to my death over 600 times, I soon realised that's not what the game is about. I have also stopped playing this one. Only so much parkhour one can stand and with the sterile and white environments with only touches of red and blue, its easy to get mighty bored.
Heavenly Sword: After realising you need jedi-like abilities in grasping the PS3 controller to do some of the ridiculous maneuvers when shooting and aiming arrows, I also came to realise that the whole "slash as many people as you can, move to next area, rinse and repeat" is not my thing. I have stopped playing this one.
Stuntman Ignition: One of the best vehicle based games I've played... fun, exciting and thoroughly entertaining.
Uncharted - Drake's Fortune: THE BEST game on the PS3... mix Tomb Raider, Indiana Jones, and the combat initiative of Gears of War and you have the best damn action adventure of 2008!
There you go, out of 5, I have bothered finishing 3... and am currently replaying Uncharted.
