My current gaming-experience
I just thought I'd bring up a topic on people's current gaming experiences. Which game(s) do you currently play and for what reason?
I'm currently hooked on Simon The Sorcerer 4: Chaos Happens ... I've always liked this series, although the 3rd installment had much left to be desired. I have really been waiting for the 4th game though ever since I saw the first few screenshots, and I must say that I'm pretty thrilled about the game. The feel of the first 2 games is back, and it's both funny and challenging.
As for "non-adventure" games I'm currently playing I have to say that I (and my fiancee for that matter) can't stop playing The Settlers: Rise Of An Empire (the 6th game in the series) ... that's an awesome game indeed. The campaign part of it has already been beaten - now we're "just" playing the various custom games which can also be a bit challenging
But what about you guys? What do you play these days?

I used to be a huge adventure game fan, but over the years I've been playing fewer and fewer of them. In the last few years the only new adventures I've purchased have been Dreamfall and Sam and Max season one (waiting to get season two).
At the moment I'm playing several games. I'm replaying one of my top games of all time Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. It's an amazing game and I'd probably rank it in my top three along with Pandora and Half-Life 2.
I'm playing God of War: Chains of Olympus on my PSP. I enjoyed the first God of War, but I found God of War II repetitive and annoying. The plot was weaker as well. This PSP game suffers from an even weaker plot, though the gameplay isn't annoying me quite as much.
I'm playing through Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando on the PS2. The Ratchet games are great, and so far this one isn't an exception. They're humourous action platformers and I'd recommend them to just about anybody.
Finally, I'm also playing Mario Kart Wii. It's fun, and I really like the new tracks in the game. Having online multiplayer makes for a better experience than previous Mario Karts too.
I've got quite a few games to play, and I'm really looking forward to getting around to playing Mass Effect and Grand Theft Auto IV.

I've been out of the loop for a while with current games, but every time I look it seems there isn't much out. I think the "latest" ones I played were Bioshock and GTA 4.
I came across a Star Wars pack I didn't remember getting and decided to play every games on the DVD, even those I had played before. First, Jedi Outcast, which is always fun to go through, then KOTOR, which is just plain good, and now I'm a bit swallowed by Empire at War, playing the empire's side. Pretty fun all around to unleash Vader across the galaxy with his fleet and army, but it gets a bit repetitive. Still some good old fun with some challenging planets and defenses.
I'm anxiously looking forward to Fallout 3, Deus Ex 3 and Mafia 2.

I'm currently playing Metal Gear Solid 4. I have never been a fan of the series (in fact, I've never played any of the games before, period), however with all the hype surrounding the 4th installation I thought I would give it a try.
For the first 30 minutes of the game, amidst the cutscenes and the short clips that establish the social climate, I realised how much you needed to know the backstory first. I was totally lost!! However, after a couple of hours of gameplay it got a a little easier to get into the story which (lets be honest) is as complex as a Rubicks Cube when stoned.
However the cinematic elements I really enjoy... it's probably the closest a shooter has come to being an adventure (with the exception of Mafia, but I would not totally call that a shooter), and is really fun to watch, even though most of the time you have to have played the previous 3 games to fully understand the references that have die hard fans wetting their pants over.
I've always been a PC kinda guy when it comes to gaming, but ever since getting a free PS3 with my television I figured console gaming has a lot to offer.
But as for the classics, I just hook my old Win98 machine into the TV, whip out the wireless keyboard and play Tex Murphy from the comfort of my living room, and boy is it ever sweet (especially with Dolby Pro Logic piping through the surround sound system!).

Team Fortress 2, Bioshock (completed it again about a week ago), Soulblazer (SNES game), trying to get Grim Fandango working again, and the occasional Mega Man 2.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
Oh, the irony. Fred's trying to get Grim Fandango to work and I can play it any time I want. *shrugs*
Right now I'm playing Gears of War a second time, on hardcore difficulty. Also playing Too Human, which has just as many good things as it does bad. And Viking: something something of asgard. The story isn't important there. What's important is finding the bad guy and killing him until he dies from it.
And yeah, the story for the Metal Gear Solid series goes in a lot of different directions. Maybe too many...

There's a game I've been meaning to play but I can't for the life of me find the title, maybe someone can help? It was a relatively short game where you commit a crime as the culprit and then play the detective part to catch (yourself?), and depending on your choices as the criminal the second part varies greatly. Anyone knows what I'm talking about? It must be about 2 years old now.

Yeah, I love that game. It's damn good. It's called Fahrenheit in the world, and Indigo Prophecy in the 'States
Made by the guys working on the new up-and-coming Heavy Rain.
You should try it. It's really quite a good game.

Ahh yeah, Fahrenheit ... that's an awesome game! I really love it. I have it for my PS2. That's one of the few games I could easily play again, because it's so exciting and requires full attention and sometimes a bit of speed too - which makes it more realistic in my opinion.
If you haven't played it yet, please do ... you won't be able to lay it down.
Btw ... I never did find out why the titles were different from the world vs. The States, but I do know that Indigo Prophecy in the States was censored seeing as how the Fahrenheit game includes some scenes with nudity given that you make the right decisions in the given situations.

Nudity? Please, call a spade a shovel. It was an honest-to-goodness interactive sex-scene!!

POSSIBLE SPOILER BELOW:
If you're talking about the sex-scene with the male cop and his girlfriend, and you only think there was this only one, you definitely have to play the game again. Later on in the game you get to see more depending if you can get the main character to say the right things to his ex-girlfriend plus show off your skills on the guitar.
Not to mention around the end of the game as well in that old train car

I just downloaded Dracula Origin... I played the Demo yesterday and just feel like I have to finish it... Seems like a good game... Hopefully it's worth it... I'm hoping it takes awhile to play, I don't like games to be over quickly... Gotta feel like I'm getting my money's worth...

Yyyyeeaaah, I was kinda thinking of the one with the ex-girlfriend if you show off on the guitar. That scene is interactive. The others are just film clips, cutscenes.
