I've seen parts of it on YouTube and it truly is deplorable. It makes Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin look like Goodfellas, it's that bad. Is there any truth that it might be coming to blu-ray? Apparently it was so ill-received it has never ever been the subject of a re-run in the history of television.dread wrote:btw... has any of you seen this peas of sh** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mz550T3QeAo

These are very interesting reviews of the Prequel Trilogy, what's most interesting about them is that the reviewer shows what worked in the classic trilogy and what doesn't in the new one. It has much to do with Lucas' new mindset, the one that takes him to alter the original movies for the worse. I can live with different lightsaber colors (they work better), the Jabba scene from 97, more people in Mos Eisley and at the desert. However, the rest just takes away at precisely why people loved the original movies. It's as if he once knew how to develop scenes and characters, forgot how to and now messes with the old movies just like the screwed the chance to make great new ones.

The reviews are quite long, but I thoroughly recommend them, specially the 3rd ep one.

Empire at war was a vastly dumbed down version of Rebellion (and missing the story elements).
In rebellion it was possible to change the order in which things happened, or eliminate events all together (Luke never finds out about Darth being his father.. for example). That's really what I meant. It was even possible for Han Solo to be taken by Jabba and never return. It was also possible that Luke never goes to Yoda (if you captured luke and kept him for majority of the game he'll never turn into a Jedi), and thus never becomes a Jedi Knight.
I keep going back to Rebellion and every time the game plays out slightly different from the last. My best one was where Luke had multiple jedi students and trained them at the jedi academy on Yavin, the other was where Emperor Palpatine took on the only Female officer in the Empire as an apprentice (so it had a very Mara Jade vibe to it). If you can stomach the odd combat controls its a very fun game with a lot of changes to the star wars canon in all the right places.

I really cant remember thos parts of the game.. All i can remember is the big galactic map and building stuff.. The characters were onley like cardboard cutings that you stationd on planets and could give boosts and such. And the onley other gameplay was space battles. Where if you vere smart you farmed up to get the death star and blew up all the planets who dident sway to the emires side

Yeah, but what I mean is if you get Luke and put him on a planet with Vader and Palpy, you get a series of events trigger where Luke firstly discover's darth is his farther, and then also fights the two- the outcome of the event is based on the skill of each character. It was even possible for the same to occur with Leia as well (if both Luke and Leia were on the same planet as Palpy and Vader it would treat it as if both Luke and Leia participated in the battle, both learning of their relationship to vader... it would also turn Leia into a jedi as a result).
