Lucas applies even more changes to Classic Star Wars

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/51019

I also just read a rumour on the Jedi Council Forums (sadly no link was provided) that they're added Jar Jar Binx into the bar on A New Hope. No dialogue but apparently there's a very visible cameo by him. However, wouldn't he be dead by then? Given that he was so connected to the Senate, surely he would eventually be a casualty of order 66. Well, I hope he is.

But regarding "Nooo" being added to ROTJ, doesn't Lucas realise that the genius and tension in that scene where Vader executes the Emperor is not in the dialogue? When you really break it down, it's not even entirely in the action but rather the psychology of the characters. Without saying one word, when Vader glances from the Emperor to his son, we automatically see his anguish which is reinforced by Luke's final cries for help. Keep in mind, Vader is wearing a mask yet a simple glance provided more tension and emotion than an exclamation could.

Oh, and you know how Star Wars rocks? Well, here's some more. If the image below doesn't show up properly, here is the link: http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/9888/r2newshots.jpg

I'll admit to being old and stubborn, but I like my Star Wars as it was originally released. I know that it's Lucas's creation, so I suppose he can change it as he sees fit, but if for no other reason than nostalga, I like it the way it was when I saw it as a kid.
Jar Jar was kind of cool when he was a dumb-ass, since he turned into a deligate of the senate he turned into a sort of backround character. The only thing that I have seen of him that was semi-cool was on the Star Wars series Star Wars the Clone Wars.
Someone should call child protection services.

Yeah back in my day. Han shot first and we accepted that as being in character. He was a scoundrel after all.

With so much memory on a Blu-ray disc Lucas should have three versions of the original, original special edition & deleted scenes extended scenes edition happy for all.
Ok, fans, here's the final insult. Now George is lying:

Peter Kats: So we heard about the new Obi Wan scream and the blinking Ewoks, why did you make Darth Vader say, "no" twice in the final scene in Return of the Jedi?

George Lucas: First, the audio was always there. The sound of Palpatine's lightning bolts always drowned out the "no" spoken by Vader. In 2009, when we started working on the blu-rays, we were at a time with THX audio mixing equipment to pull out the lost dialogue from Vader. So, now we can finally hear Vader.

Peter Kats: Eventhough the blu-rays have not been released, there is quite a bunch of negative feedback floating around the net regarding the Vader "No" dialogue added to RTJ. Why do you think you needed to add the "No" back into the movie since that scene was so powerful anyway?

George Lucas: It's always more emotional to have a character say "No" after seeing or hearing something very traumatic or stressful. For example, the other night, I was really craving something sweet. I went into the freezer and I saw a pint of Carvel ice cream laying on the bottom shelf. But once I opened up the lid, I saw that there was about one spoonful of Rocky Road [the flavor]. I was so disappointed that there wasn't at least one serving of ice cream left, I literally screamed "no" out loud! I'm surprised I didn't wake up anyone. So if you can imagine someone getting really upset that there actually isn't any ice cream left in the freezer, can you imagine how a father would react to see his son be electrocuted by Darth Sidious? He would obviously say "no."

It still makes me laugh at how George Lucas used so much cgi in the Phantom, Attack & Revenge it is impossible to watch all the star wars movies back to back when the latest Star wars movies look so new and shiny I will always stick to the original.
Did George even think that perhaps he'd already eaten all the icecream the night before.. he's such a big fat greedy fork isn't he. Doesn't know the words "forking STOP ALREADY!"

As far as I'm concerned only 2 starwars films were ever made, ANH and ESB..

ROTJ doesn't exist because he butchered that back in the 80s, it was already broken.. he just broke it further. He should've stuck with his original script.
Hey come on. I loved the cute little Ewoks in ROTJ and that great rescue at the beginning.

I'll have to admit that I would have been okay if he never bothered with making episodes I-III.

I agree with that.
my opinion is though that the original ROTJ script where Han dies and the war ends in a rather "well both sides really lost here.. no one won" scenario. To me that would've been a lot better than the cliched ending they actually used.. whilst still the scenes were amazing, the way I see it the reason why Empire strikes back was the best was because of its harsh ending, with an even harsher ending in ROTJ it could've been amazing.

I must admit they really played down Hans role in ROTJ, for the most part he doesn't really do much. I dunno, I just felt there was more depth and emotion in what Georgie was originally going to do as opposed to the cutesy cliched crap he ended up with in ROTJ.

I like how much darker ESB was, and to me it still stands as the best example of what star wars actually IS. The prequels are a total bastardization of that.
I like The Empire Strikes Back because it goes against the general movie rule that the good guys have to win. The heroes in ESB never won a conflict they were in. They were on the run, their attempts to even "break even" as it were also meeting with meager or no success. And the climactic battle, though revealing major story elements, was also a no-win for the good guys, hands down (well, one hand anyway). But, despite it all, it's still fun to watch.

My two cents,

if the plan is to impliment Jar Jar in the bar at "most eyesore". i would have made him the one who looses his arm to old Ben. that whould have justefied having that enoying comic relief stupid ass caracther.

I have allsow a love for The Empire Strikes Back. Allways had a love for the stormtroopers. and when i saw them in the snow outift i really wanted one. havent bought me one yet though. get me a uniform and join the 501 :D

On the new ones Jar Jar was never cool, just a dumb-ass. he was never funny, just a pain.
the newons lacked the dark and organic feal of reall sets and propps, i liked the fights though, being a reall star wars fan i have read a lott of starwars books and played allmost all the games (exept thos refering to epi 1-3). Really looking forwards to TOR. bin a huge fan of the Kotor games :D and sith for the win :P
