Holy GOD. What the hell do you people put in your sweets? I stumbled across a store in Oslo that sells US-brand candy and after having sampled it I can firmly state that I've solved the world's energy problems. I could probably power New York, California and half of Texas on this stuff. Forget cold fusion, just break open a chocolate bar.
I bought one each of the following:
A Hershey Bar (Creamy Milk Chocolate)
A Mr. Goodbar
A small bag of Reese's Pieces
A packet of Milk Duds
A Butterfingers
A Tootsie Roll
Besides having a mild heart-attack, major sugar rush, headache, numb nerves after shaking for too long and probably anaphyleptic shock (or closest possible alternative to such) I'm now writing this post to tell you guys that if I never post again it's because I've gone into cryogenic freezing to be thawed up at a point in time where they can cure post traumatic stress disorder, not to mention sugar rush withdrawal.
Everything from the US seems to be either better, bigger, stronger or faster. Not necessarily all at once though, since this Milk Duds stuff has got to be classified as the crack cocaine of candy.
I gotta go lie down. Let this heretofore be referred to as 'pulling a Fred', writing posts under the influence of sugar...

I think soda officially overtook water as the most widely drank beverage in the US. Don't quote me on that though, I could be wrong.

My son and I just shared a Dairy Queen banana split. They do something to the ice cream that makes it so soft and delicious.

Stroh eh? That would not have any relation to the Austrian rum would it? Adelaide is known for its frog cakes btw, they're too sweet though. I remember as a kid I could never eat an entire one.
Well I survived the ordeal, but I will say this - After digesting about half of the listed candy I got such a sugar-rush I stayed awake far longer than I should have.
Oh, and my favorite was the Tootsie Roll. Not too sweet, but still chewy and tasty.

I never thought chocolate and peanut butter would go together, until I placed a piece of chocolate inside a spponful of peanut butter and had a taste. It was pretty darn good!
Although, it's not that hard to imagine if you think there are already plenty of chocolates out there with peanuts in them.

My favourite used to be Twix then Mars Bars and lately now its Double Decker.
Caramel and other Cadbury goodies like Dairy Milk etc. is nice too.
