Black screen after launching Pandora Directive new game

Hello

I have this problem with Pandora Directive. It took me 24 hours or so to get to this place and to configure everything lol, but now I managed to get into menu. However, once I click new game, write my player name, click "ok" on game level, and then "ok" on suggestions how to get different endings/game paths, the screen turns black. Beneath this blackness however there are similar buttons as in choose player screen, as if I click on the bottom there appears "ok", "cancel", "help" and "delete" buttons. If I click cancel, it gets back to main menu, if I click "ok" - back to the screen where I have to choose game level (and if I go on clicking ok, it gets back to this place again and goes in circles). I am able to launch intro and tutorial, they work normally. I tried to set different options on configuration and such and it was still the same.

Sound card is set to Sound Blaster Pro (No Verify), same as is automatically except that DMA is 1; MIDI is set to Adlib Gold. Couldn't experiment much with sound cards as when setting them computer shuts down (just turns off) frequently for some reason, monitor goes "Out of scan range" sometimes, sometimes it stucks on test.

I am launching the game by "Tex4" on Pandora Directive 1st CD, as if I launch the game from the installed files on drive C, mouse pointer does not move.

Previously Pandora Directive used to work normally on this computer, later I deleted many things (almost everything) and reinstalled some including Pandora's Directive. All other games which used to work on this computer works ok however.

I have Windows 98 SE operating system, 450 MHz Pentium III processor.
Managed to launch it now, it works when I use Pandora.bat on install version. And to avoid all those troubles with computer turning off, I have to do this:

To launch first time, I launched, then click "cancel" on automatic sound detection, , then clicked "cancel" on setting sound cards manually and launched game without sound, then went into configuration and set the sound cards. It thrown me off game. Then I launched again and did the same, it worked. What I do everytime now is that I copy the "default.ini" everytime computer loads anew, then rename it to "config.ini" and so overwrite config.ini, that way it allows me to set sound cards as if I would be just installed the game, and I do everything the same way. If I just launch game without doing it, computer turns off.

Anyways it is relatively ok now, playable, so just thought I'd share it if someone else will have similar problems.
Well done, and thanks for giving everyone the heads up! :D
