Bug? Lucia is away after her anagrams message

On Day 8, I read the messages from Lucia and Chelsee (Mission St. Path) and Lucia tells me that she has a printout of the anagrams I asked her to run. But when I call her, I get her answering machine. I used cheats to get the code for Malloy's CD and when I try to call Elijah Witt, it says he's not answering either! Is this a bug? What can I do to fix it?
its not a bug it just means you have not completed some tasks. You have to do other things first.
Hmm, I thought I did everything I needed to. Has anyone else encountered this problem before? Last time I played Pandora Directive, this didn't happen. I'll check to see what I missed, if anything. I hope I'm not at a dead-end where the task(s) I needed to do are already past. :?
Well, actually there is a certain order of things to be done. Right when you start day 8 in Tex's Office, you should start your vidphone and see the two messages from Lucia and Chelsee. Then call Lucia back, after you're done talking to her, get the fax she sent you from the fax machine. Examine the fax. Go into Tex's Computer Room, use Malloy's Disc on the computer and type the password that Tex recognizes in the fax Lucia sent you (HINT = MERGE THE FOUR RARE CASES TO SEE MAPS). That should solve the puzzle and give you Elijah Witt's vidphone number. You can easily proceed from here.

What you're experiencing is not a bug per se. You have actually solved Malloy's Disc puzzle without even having the knowledge necessary to solve it (fax from Lucia). This is one of the problems of using cheats to bypass puzzles. Sometimes, with cheats, you can solve a puzzle before it's meant to be solved and the game doesn't understand that. Like I said, there's a certain order of things to be done. I would refrain from bypassing puzzles by cheating. If the puzzles are that difficult for you, then I'd suggest either use the built-in hint system in the game or a walkthrough.

Anyway, try loading up a saved game of the immediate start of Day 8, right at the very beginning where you stand in your office in front of the desk. Do NOT solve Malloy's Disc puzzle until you get the fax from Lucia and have examined it in your inventory. Follow the guidelines in my first paragraph of this post above.

Hopefully this will help...
No, you see, that's the problem. Firstly, Day 8 begins. I receive two voicemails, one from Chelsee and another from Lucia. That's fine and dandy. Then, I try to call Lucia back, and she's not at her phone. All I get is her answering machine. That's the problem. I can't get the fax until I call her, and she doesn't answer, which doesn't seem right.
You will only be able to talk to Elijah Witt if you have the 'Robco Call Tracer', which you get from the Electronics Shop.

Did you get into the Autotech inventory room and get the CD Pernell wanted? It may seem like a dumb ? but it's critical to the game.

While I reckon it is possible he didn't get the disc from Autotech, it is a bit unlikely since I don't believe you can finish day 5 without having the disc in your possession. However, I could be wrong...

Check your inventory, if it still has an item called "Pernell's Key", then you should travel to Autotech. Go inside the Evidence Room by using the security card on the keypad. The password is 773348. Then, use Pernell's key to open locker E36. Get the Operation Euphoria disc inside and demagnetize it before you exit the room.

Again, it is quiet unlikely that you have missed that, but give it a go. This may be the thing that prevents Lucia from talking to you on the vidphone.
You're probably right, Kress, but I remember having the same problem many years ago. I ended up going back to day 3 or 4 and having to replay the other days (including Roswell) over again.

BTW, nice Gable avatar. :D
