Mystery Bandana...

Last night as I was playing Under a Killing Moon for the Nth time, I stumbled upon something I had never seen before...

In Ching's Secret Room, there is a statue of David wearing a loincloth, which can be removed. In the inventory it is referred to as a bandana. Not once have I ever needed a bandana in the game, so if anyone knows it's purpose I would be thrilled to know...

If I remember correctly, that "bandana" can be used to wipe off a dirty warning label on the hermetically [sp?] sealed Byzantine artifact case... which basically warns you not to mess with the hermetically [again, sp?] sealed Byzantine artifact case.

But that doesn't mean you can't mess with it anyway. :)

I think that's what it's for... my memory can sometimes prove fuzzy, however, so you may want to give it a try yourself.

Hey thanx! it worked...and I thought I knew everything there was to know about UKM...

Does anyone know about any other 'funnies' that serve no real purpose to the gameplay, but are worth knowing anyway?

I actually just came across that the last time I was playing the game. I was afraid to pull that lever on the... hermetically seals byzantine um artifacts. I mean, I did, of course, and everything crumbled and no sirens went off, but I went back to a saved increment keeping it all intact. What happens if you continue in the game with the hermetic-blah-blah broken? Does it come back to bite you later in the game?

I really don't think so - maybe if it had been like the Pandora Directive, with multiple story paths. Ching already has a pretty good reason to be pissed off with you for breaking into her pad and removing the statuette, so I don't think that destroying her priceless Byzantine artifacts would piss her off any more than she already is...

You lose like 100 points or something.

What's the point of the points anyway?

Points are an additional goal one can achieve while playing the game to its finish.

Another insignificant quirk occurs just after decoding the Golden Gate room note. Before entering the Hotel, go see Mac Malden. You get a point for doing so but he doesn't reveal anything you don't already know.

There are also of course the Easter Eggs... but as far as I know they are only in Pandora.

Although, if you notice in both UAKM and Pandora, if you look at the window in the alley behind Rook's, the one that belongs to the Slice 'o' Heaven bullding (near the fake fire escape) Tex makes some interesting comments:

UAKM: "It feels like somebody's watching. Someone really weird."
Pandora: "Something's going on behind that window, something I don't want to know about".

That always intrigued me.
