Overseer Freezing

Sorry if you guys have gone through this a thousand times but I didnt see this question asked.

I just installed Overseer again. Cd version. I get to tex's office with no problem. But the game freezes randomly after I am done examining something. It doesnt always happen in the same place, but it happens often so its not the most fun thing.

Thanks guys.

I'm guessing Hyperthreading is on?

Snag this:
http://www.quandaryland.com/Help/download/imagecfg.zip

Unzip it to the Overseer folder, open up the command prompt and type-

cd\overseer (if this is where the game is installed to)
Then press return.

Then type-

imagecfg -a 0x1 OVERSEER.EXE
Then press return.

You should see something like this:
OVERSEER.exe contains no configuration information
OVERSEER.exe contains a Subsystem Version of 4.0
OVERSEER.exe updated with the following configuration information:
Process Affinity Mask: 00000001

Try running the game again.
Post back after testing.

Um, I hit a problem. When I type in the imagecfg thing. It says "This program can not be opened in DOS mode." I'm supposed to be using DosBox, right?

No. Just open CMD.EXE via 'Run' and do ot that way.
It's a command line app, but not a DOS app.

Yeah, sorry I tried that first. But I cant even get past the cd\overseer. It says it cant find it. Sorry if I'm being dense :(

Where is Overseer installed?

Right on the C drive.

I meant the full path.

You know, C:\Overseer, C:\Tex\Overseer, C:\Program Files\Overseer - etc.

Where is the Overseer directory?
Image
c:\overseer

If you open the 'Run' dialog and type 'cmd' then press return, the prompt should come up with the current path listed as 'C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator' or something.
Typing 'cd\overseer' and pressing 'Return' should land you in 'C:\Overseer'.
As long as you put 'imagecfg.exe' from the archive into C:\Overseer, typing 'imagecfg -a 0x1 OVERSEER.EXE' should patch the file.

Thank you good sir everything seems to be working now. Thanks for being patient, I wasnt typing in cmd. So thanks again :)

So it patched OK?
Overseer doesn't lock up anymore?

It hasnt locked up yet. I played around for about 30 minutes to make sure and everything sees to be working real nice. If anything changes I'll let ya know.
