Sadly, the feedbacks from critics and gamers have been so negative that I likely won't play this one.

You don't know "Alone in the Dark" games? It's classic, games of my youth!

The original Alone in the Dark games from the early 90's (as shown in Alexander's link to GOG) were definitely amazing. I have very fond memories of that series. However, the newer Alone in the Dark games that came out in the 2000's were pretty poor shooters. That seems to be reflected in the very high reviews on GOG for the original series, and the very negative reviews on Steam for the newer one.
