Unofficial Tex Murphy

You know I've been working on a costume for about a year now, making it as authentic as I possibly can, just so I can throw my name in the Bounty Hunter's hat for the 501st (You know I wouldn't have even done this except for my children). Currently, Tanner and I are making the rifle this character used while I wait for a set of unfnished gauntlet to arrive, possibly next month. After I get them altered, I can submit this for approval for the 501st.

If I get accepted, would you like to see it? It's kinda unique in the fact that it's so damned hard to recreate that there are less than 15 decent one worldwide, and only about 7-9 (I think) that are still active and acceptable. I know you know about it already, but I'll have an identification and photo for it when it's approved.

I'm a little excited to share it with Tex fans here since almost all of you seem to like little oddities like this from time to time.

Here is my 5 foot tall prop rifle. Like I said, when I have it all done, I'll get a picture of me with it and post. Got a slew of images on photobucket, but if you aren't a fan of Star Wars, Tex, or ferrets, you won't be all that interested.

Wow, that's quite a prop. Now, I'm not into cosplay and all that, but I know it's a big deal at conventions. I've attended conventions (although they don't often come to my area) but I just go as my boring old self.

Chandler, I might have my setup done by late spring, I think. I'm still waiting to hear back from the manufacturer of my gauntlets. But I emailed them about a Weird Al concert coming up in my city that I *might* get to be involved with (he likes using the 501st as stage prop). So I may get them soon.

On a side note, if you've seen the latest Star Wars movie, you might remember the First Order snitch who said she had Solo and his crew at the castle. For anyone not silly crazy about Star Wars, her name is Bazine Netal, and she's got a wicked black and white costume.

My only true fear about doing this is her damned designer shoes, which have a 1 1/2 platform & 5 inch heel. For me, wearing these stilts is like staring fown the south face of a 20 story building. Scary stuff. I fear ankle breaks and nose bleeds.

The upside? I finally have a plausible reason to wear black lipstick. lol!
