This is what Joel posted in another thread. Worked for me. You wil be asked for your code there.

1. Open Steam

2. Click on the "Library" tab

3. Go to the bottom right of the screen where it reads "+ ADD A GAME"

4. From the small sub-menu, click "Activate A Product on Steam"

5. Follow prompts

6. Prepare and consume a three course meal while watching The Godfather Trilogy to pass time once download commences
