Tesla on Steam!
Yeah it's awesome. Actually it was confirmed back on the 27th of August after they announced the Atlus partnership.

Back then I made an announcement on the Steam Group for Tex Murphy, there are 1,428 people there, so it'll be great to see a Steam release.ATLUS and Big Finish games will release Tesla Effect on Steam and other PC platforms worldwide in early 2014.

I think the difference between now and when the Atlus partnership announced it is that Valve has now agreed to carry it. Before I think it was just them saying they planned to release it there.
This is definitely good news. Hopefully it can get this game out to a wide audience and add to the current audience. Here's hoping for another adventure after Tesla Effect!

Steam is totally rad! I was wondering when someone would mention this news here.
I didn't bother with Steam until the AVGN Adventures game came out some weeks ago. I'm pleased with how easy it is. Steam, not AVGN Adventures-- that game is hard as hell.
But the bad news is... all Steam games get a discussion board of their own. Ow, my brain! I can barely keep up with this place, BFG, and Facebook as it is already!

We could probably dedicate a whole thread to predicting ridiculous complaints about the game to be found on the steam forums.
"What is this, it looks like something from the 1980's???!!!???"
"Cool game but it would have been much more Bada$$ as an FPS. they should have maid(sic) it more like a first person shoter(sic)."
and of course: "I'm a hardcore old school gamer who's been playing games since the beginning (I played the first Call of Duty when it first came out) and this is the worst game I have ever played in my entire life."
"It makes fun of dwarves!!!!!!"
And on and on ...

Well, yes and no. They are known to release current games too. For instance there's Battle Worlds: Kronos plus the upcoming Shadow Warrior game. Although the latter is an old franchise, it's definitely not an old game. It's a brand new reimagining developed by a gaming studio with a full budget, so it's not an Indie release.joliet_jane wrote:GOG stands for Good OLD Games.lestat666 wrote:I don't understand why this would not be on GOG... considering the others were released on there.
Maybe it is going on there... at least I just assumed it was.
It would make sense for it to be.
I don't know how that works because they don't release all latest release titles, they're very selective like that. For that reason, I actually would expect Tesla to be on there because of their love of the franchise.
