Ok, movie sequence freeze issues
I've got a beast system running on XP, specs are:
AMD64 3200+ (2ghz)
2GB DDR
ATI X850XT (PCI Express)
I installed Overseers, the patch (also the edited files) version 1.04, DVD Express (20mb one) and changed the LockVideo settings in the Tex.ini from -1 to 1.
Alright, the problem is... each time there's a movie sequence when asking about "someone", the person talks about the topic asked and the game suddenly freezes, i have to alt tab and close the game.
This is the example:

Any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening? I don't have the compatibility crap running or ticked, since only needed it for installing the game, and all video settings and res are on max, plus I use Mediamatics DVD Express in the DVD area.
Thanks for reading.

If it's an Overseer sound problem, 99% of the time it's RSX related. Try fiddling with the 'RSX 3D' settings in the program menu - uncheck 'use 3d sound' etc.
What an annoying sound library. Since they fused it into the Miles Sound System it's been impossible to update it to work on newer systems. The irony is Overseer was funded by Intel on the basis that the game would show off it's fancy 3D audio features through RSX.

In the tex.ini file try changing RSXDeviceType=wave to RSXDeviceType=directsound

Well, so much for that! You might try using the Xing MPEGII device (located in the Config section of the game under Video) in place of Mediamatics DVDExpress. It works just as well on my system.
Hope this helps!
