I hate to ask this, but...

I'm trying to revive some old games on my xp-operated system. Among these are Fallout 1 and 2, which I'd really like to revisit. However, there's no getting them to work, and the net has, so far, been of little (rather no) help...
And then I remembered there's a bunch of helpful guys right here who may or may not be able to point me in the right direction.
So even though it's not tex-related in the least, if anybody could impart some words of wisdom to a poor gamer like myself, I'd be much obliged.
Thanks.

Hi, Fred
I don't have Fallout 2, but for fallout 1 I just set the compatibility mode to Windows 95 and it ran okay.

Forgive this VERY stupid question (I'm not computer-literate) but, just exactly how does one do that?

Well, you right-click your mouse on the .exe file of your choice, go to Properties, and choose Compatibility. From there you select the marker that says 'Run this program in compatibility with'. And finally select the operating system of your choice from the draw-down selection-thingy right beneath it. Can't miss it. And then of course click 'Apply'. Should be it I think...
Good luck in your future noble endeavours Jim
