It's been a while. So, I thought I'd say, "Hi."
I'm super excited about the tex revival. I'm having my wife play the games. I'm not sure which to start her with, because she'll likely think they are great but only get through one. So, if she'll only get through one, I'm thinking I'll tell her to play Pandora.

Good to hear from you!
If I could play only one Tex game, it would definitely be PD.
P.S. Completely off-topic, but this is post 888. Go mutant league!

Hey! It's the keck! Good to see you post buddy!
Oh yes, I agree. If you can only play one, it would definitely have to be Pandora. I've replayed it so many times I can now speed run through each path, knowing exactly what to do to achieve each ending. I just LOVE that game.

Good to see you around!
Its pretty subjective but though I started with UAKM, PD became my favourite Tex Murphy.

Hiya, welcome back! I think most people are in agreement at this point that Pandora is the best example of the Trilogy as such. It will probably get the best reaction out of a newcomer and then once they are hooked they will enjoy everything else the Tex series has to offer. However having played all in order it would be nice to start out on UAKM (as the first of the FMV games) but it all depends on how much of a gamer your wife is?

PD is the best one so far in my book - but Project Fedora could be the best yet.
I'd love to see in the reward tiers a PDF or book script of the game at higher tiers - something to read when the game has been played.

I think if I had played UAKM first I probably wouldn't have gone any further in the series, playing Pandora first & then I played overseer & later on played UAKM.

The wife says she won't play a Tex Murphy game with me until I play Lego Indiana Jones with her. Because, we have had it for almost a year and we haven't played it yet.
~Keck
P.S. I'm going with Pandora, but she won't like the Alien Encounter part ... too twitchy for her.

Litlkeck great to see you... A Wife??? Whew time sure has flown, I could have sworn the last time we talked you weren't even dating {you were moving for a job if I'm not mistaken}... Sounds like things are going pretty good though, great to hear...
I'd go with UAKM myself... It's not as in depth as Pandora and it has some better humor... If she makes just a couple of wrong decisions in conversations she could end up on the dark path in Pandora and that might end up turning her off instead of bringing her over to our side...
Just my thoughts on it...
I just started my Son playing the Tex games... So far he is really enjoying it... He just passed the Hotel in UAKM... Doing pretty good for his first go at it... I haven't asked him how many Hints he has used... lol

I don't hear any disputing??? You really should elaborate instead of just poking with a stick...
I was referring to some of the slapstick stuff... I also referred to Pandora's Dark Storyline in reference to the humor part... If you get on the Dark Storyline, I think the Humor in UAKM is much better than Pandora... And if someone playing for the first time somehow ends up on that path, I feel it turn them away from the games rather than bring them in...
Also in UAKM you get to work more than one case even though they all help towards the main goal... In Pandora you start on the case of Thomas Malloy and that's it, once you find him you continue his work in finding the spaceship... UAKM gives you the Pawnshop case, then you get the Statuette, then you get Hotel case, and so on...
Pandora was indeed the better game of the series, but for someone just starting I feel it would be better for them to start with UAKM...

slapstick is not a synonym of
some better humor
do i elaborate enough?
