Omg! Why does Overseer only support Windows 95?

I just receive the package after buying from Ebay and I was shocked to find out that it doesn't support either DOS or Windows 98/2000.

I have only windows 2000, what can I do to make it able to install? Please help!!

It was made in a time where NT 4.0 didn't support most 95-specific programs, so the installer has that embedded to it. The same happens in NFS: High Stakes, a game I was aching to play and the installer didn't let me. Nothing to worry about!
Check you version of the win2k, try the properties of any executable and see if you have a tab that says "Compatibility" or something like that (usually the last tab). If you don't, no problem. Go to Microsoft's update site (I guess it's http://update.microsoft.com) and update to the lastest service pack for the win2k.
Once you do have it, go to the CD, go to the installer (you can see what file it is reading the autorun.inf file, it says which file Windows should open once the cd is inside) and to it's properties, go to compatibility and select windows 98 and in the last case, windows 95. This will tell the installer your windows is compatible (windows 98/ME are new versions of the windows 3.1 branch, which goes 3.1->95->98->ME->dead, windows 2k is from 3.11->NT 4.0->2k (also NT 5.0) ->XP (also NT 5.1) -> wherever they go (Vista, it stands for VIsta, which is VI, which is 6 because it's NT 6.0)).
That should do it ;).

Hey, it works, thanks!

But 2 more problems have occured after I start the game.

1st. I used the DVD version to play the game but there's no movie sequences to watch, only the CD version does

2nd. I checked the captioning button in config but the subtitles won't show up during the game at all.

Please help!!! Thank you

As the local saying goes "Those are another 500 ;)!".

The DVD issue has a workaround which is fairly simple to do (and get used to workarounds on Overseer, you'll do them a lot. Just wait to the oh-so-famous Nazi ruins bug and the Chandelier bug ;)). Download and install Mediamatics DVD express (http://www.lpcdaust.com/DVDExpress.zip) and the Overseer Patch (http://www.lpcdaust.com/DVDExpress.zip). After installing them both, run Overseer and see if you get video now, if you don't, go to config, mpeg-2 decoder and select the Mediamatic one.

Hmm.. I checked this out, and my version of Win2k does not have a compatibility option. Any other advice? And yes, I did download the latest Service Pack from MS.
