Overseer - MCI MIDI?

I was just wondering if Overseer uses MCI for MIDI playback or the newer Directshow interface. If it is MCI, then I've just found a very interesting article on the Virtualdub homepage pointing out peculiarities in MCI MIDI behavior in Windows XP.
