Charlie Sheen

I shouldn't have to elaborate too much here or even provide any weblinks as to the subject matter of this thread. But I think it's an important discussion topic on the grounds that it is yet again more evidence that no matter who you are, nothing is a given or totally secure. I'm a fan of Charlie so i've been following it closely. Though with all the media coverage, in a way it's hard not too as it's shaping up to be one of the most reported celebrity controversies since those which surrounded Michael Jackson in the early 1990s.

At the same time, and I cringe at my guilt here, you just can't help it watch and see a darkly comedic side. I know drugs, depression and meltdowns of any kind are no laughing matter, but at the same time, when you hear the man claim that his partying habits make Mick Jagger and Keith Richards look like amateurs, claim he has animal blood, profess that he cured his illness with his mind and the overall assertion that he's sober, you can't help it laugh.

Personally, I love the sitcom Two and a Half Men and would obviously be sad to see it go. Most of all, i'd hate to see Charlie go because no matter what your judgment is of his lifestyle, he has a lot to offer as a performer just like his Brother and Father. I hope he survives it, but at the same time, I seriously doubt that i've seen a celebrity meltdown this catastrophic, more so than Mel Gibson.
I agree it's very sad. I don't think he's as good an actor as his dad but for a while there it seemed he had it all. I do feel bad he can't seem to dig himself out of this hole.

I feel nothing but pity for this guy.

I don't watch Two and a Half Men, but I believe the show right now has a hit following. So I dont think it was a good move to cancel the season.
well I suppose they had to do something to put charlie in line.

Nothing wrong with that, but a lot of workers are now out of a job, because of Charlie's actions.

He has commented though that he is doing everything he can to back them which is why he is attempting to sue CBS. With the money made, he hopes to compensate those of the crew who are harmed by any of this which is happening. He wants the show to continue and he wants the team to stay together, but whether his plans crystalize the way he hopes remains to be seen.
CBS does seem to be the more likely party to sue. I believe all Charile did was that he used his 1st Amendment rights.

The vanity card (which i've read) was prime facie and bona fide jest. No question. He exploded without justification. Sure, he's entitle to disagree and even have the card removed if he really wants, but it shouldn't have escalated to the point that it's currently at. Having said that, I can't find any links, but saw on the news this morning that he did yet another interview and he actually expressed regret on the Chuck Lorre comments that were perceived as anti-semetic and also disapproves of spousal abuse. Reality setting in? We'll see. 2011 is a write off, but if he's smart he can revive the show and his reputation in time for 2012.

I wish him the best.
go charlie, heard today he has opened his twitter account & he has 500,000 followers already....lol

Just noticed this too! lol

This should be added as essential reading alongside Oscar Wilde, Shakespeare and Harper Lee in School curriculums. Absolute poetry, generation defining stuff. Charlie's approaching his prime :D

Ok...i'm coming out, there's one man I would turn for - CHARLIE SHEEN!
Charlie Sheen soundboard - EPIC WIN!

Ha I dont think I've ever heard a soundboard prank phone call from him yet. Sheen has also demanded 3 million per episode as part of is return conditions. I'm definately interested in hearing how this plays out. Even though I'm not a fan I'll probably watch some of the next season for Two and a Half Men too if Sheen wins, if only for entertainment purposes.
OMG, now we have charlie avatars.................................

I'm pretty sure there can be no happy ending from this but we'll see.

If Charlies doesn't get therapy soon, his kids will be in therapy for the rest of their lives. I read on the news that the police have taken custody of his twin boys away from him.
