Problem with Overseer

Please help me! I'm playing Overseer DVD version, applied patch 1.04 and DVDexpress, and I'm using win98SE - graphics Nvidia GeForce: in Gideon's gallery I can't put the long bar on the chandelier because the game crashes and put me back on desktop! There's anybody who can help me?
Excuse my bad english, I'm Italian!

Change the Display mode from 640 X 480 to 800 X 600.

Might be a dodgy DVD. Try cleaning the disc (rudimentary I know).
Just might work. Let us know.

Ok: I cleaned the disk, restarted the computer and when Tex look at the chandelier, I put him as tall as possible and then tried to put the bar on the chandelier! Miracle! The game went on! I don't know which of the three things worked well: maybe all of them...
