As I have never played the first two, and can't get UaKM to work on my PC, Good Old Games is my savior.

I have all of them already.

I am curious though... How did they update it?

Did they completely rewrite the install code to work on modern computers or did they just integrate dosbox and add a dosbox exe file to start it up?

Anybody know?

The latter. Buy it anyway, just to support Project Fedora. You'll get a nifty soundtrack download out of it, and you'll feel good inside.

Wordplay LLC is listed as the publisher. That's AC's company. So yes.
from what I read from people who have downlaoded it, dos box has been added to the exe file installer & it installs just like the original file.

I am downloading wed night (that's tonight in au) interesting to see how it preforms under vista as when I play dos box in vista I get this qirky high pitched sound at times throughout the game & it really shits me. Doesn't do it in xp. Win 7 has this sound also.

I will post after I have downloaded it. I only downloading UAKM as the first two don't interest me due that the graphics.

OMFG OMFG OMFG! This is the best news ever!

Well I guess I don't need to remake UAKM then- looks like GOG has it all covered from here on out.. this is the best news for Tex Murphy EVER! I will definitely buy the whole series once its completely released. I hope this means they're working on fixing the bugs with Overseer.. because that game is a complete mess when it comes to any modern PC (constantly crashes on Vista and Xp).

I just want to praise AC for this, its the best news ever and about time too. Even better it means that the possibility of another tex game isn't far off :D well done guys.
well I downloaded it tonight cost me $12.00au which is pretty good. It has dos box in the setup file.
the gog download manager is very slow so I cancelled it & used my download manager(download from browser option). I clicked on the setup file after the download & it verifies the file & then nothing happens. After about 10 mins it starts to install. Maybe its extracting the images or something but it makes you think nothing is happening. My Pc became very unstable for a while, maybe due to the file trying to work & I thought it had just died.

The benefit of just clicking on the UAKM icon on your dsektop instead of mounting dos box and the having to type moon or pandora. When you close the game you don't have to worry about dos box.

I think other people on the board have done the same good job with the hd/installers except for the dos box program.

Still have that stupid sound problem, I have 3 pc's and they all do under vista, xp is the only one that doesn't. I might put my old sound card back in & see the difference.

I had exactly the same problem during the installation under Vista.
But now, I have this "under a killing moon" icon on my desk (so unbelievable), and the game works perfectly. It's great to replay UAKM without having to deal with the dosbox configuration.

I hope that will help to raise the amount of money needed to develop a new tex game.
As always, I support all their projects!
Bought both.
:D
I'll buy them all together once all of them have been released, hopefully it isn't too far off for PD and Overseer...
Anyone got an inside line as to a round-about time when those 2 will be released???

For all the people that really hate messing around with dosbox.

check out this dos box front end.

This thing became my best friend. Configure the game once and then all you have to do is click on the profile for the game to load it.

Works like a charm. This isn't to deter people from downloading the new tex games. But it sure helps with all the other games out there that don't have installers.

Today I purchased MS, MM and UKAM. I've never played MS and MM, so I intend on playing all 5 games back to back. It'll be interesting to see how the chronology of the stories play out. I'm just so excited that the days of disc swapping are behind me.
works great under xp, vista well I find the sound breaks up a bit. 2 pc's with the same specs, same mother board ,same sound drivers one works great with dos box & the other doesn't. the only difference is vista.
