I'm probably going to get a clip over the head for this as it's been there for quite some time, but lately i've really had a thirst for some traditional adventure games. I feel I need a break from the new generation titles so I thought i'd go back to my roots and see what else I hadn't played. At the moment i'm playing Runaway which is a charming nod to classic point n click adventures. I'm nearly finished that, my next title will be Broken Sword: Directors cut for Nintendo DS.

In the meantime, I paid a visit to the SCUMMVM website and found two classic adventures that i'd always wanted to play but never got to play: Flight of the Amazon Queen and Beneath a Steel Sky. I've downloaded them both and they work fantastically, so now I just need to finish Runaway and i'll get into those. Anyone played them? I can't sum up just how much I miss classic adventures. Don't know what to play after those....

Aahh yeah - SCUMMVM is fantastic and more and more titles can be played with this gem :)

I do remember both games, you refer to. I even played Flight Of The Amazon Queen all the way to the end. As far as I remember, I never got to finish Beneath A Steel Sky.

Anyway - both games are quite good. Flight Of The Amazon Queen isn't the toughest of games but it's enjoyable nevertheless. I actually replayed it not that long ago :)

The memory is a bit more blurry as regards to Beneath A Steel Sky although I do remember that it was a great game. Why I never finished it is beyond me, but I may have to replay it sometime.

You're in for some enjoyable hours with these games - that's for sure :)

Very promising there, Netroam! Now the big challenge: balancing with study, work, sleep and a healthy lifestyle. Currently up to Chapter 3 of Runaway.

If you like freeware, then check out the AGS site (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk), there are a lot of freeware adventures there, some are at least as good as the old Lucasarts/sierra games, and some are as bad as you can imagine.. LOL..
