Dosbox problem.

So i've been fiddling with the ins and outs of dosbox to get Pandora Directive working. It works, and works well. My main problem is when it comes to CD mounting.

I've ripped all 6 discs of Pandora Directive and have them mounted as drives in dosbox because the program didn't like me actually changing the cd from my real drive.

The problem is that dosbox tells me that there can only be 5 mounts maximum (and one is taken up for mounting my c drive to install games and run exes). This is not an issue now as i have the first 4 discs of the game mounted, but will be when i get to the last 2.

Now on the old forums, i noticed someone said they got all the discs mounted usind d-fend. I gave d-fend a try last week and gave up on it after it disabled mouse support in the games i made profiles for (even though mouse support was enabled).

So essentially, what i'm asking is does anyone know a way around the 5 mount maximum in dosbox? If not, maybe someone can help me with my mouse problem in d-fend?

Heck, any help would be appreciated ^^
Hm... I've never had a problem with the cd swapping, at least not since v.63. I believe you probably aren't mounting the cdrom drive properly in dosbox.

it should be:
mount <drive location> <simulated drive location> -t cdrom

Perhaps, depending on your drive, additional commands might be needed. Use the forums on the dosbox site. I found something, a long while ago, about someone having problems with cd swapping in pd, and they fixed it.

well i'm mounting them fine. I used the cdrom technique that you suggested first, then found it easier to mount the isos in dosbox as drives. Both cases, i get a 5 mounts maximum problem.

There is a way around this for PD. discs 5 and 6 are only really needed near the end game. When i get there, i can mount say 5 and 6 instead of 2 and 3, or replace 2 other drives. It's a solution, but i'd still like to be able to mount unlimited drives :/
don't mount all the drives, just swap them like normally. If you really want to mount them all, play around with the dosbox config, maybe there is a settin for max mounted drives. Also, you can look into the debian cd tools and check if that won't let you mount more than 5.

I would suggest a program called virtual Drive Pro by Farstone... can mount as many drives as there are letters in the alphabet (provided that those letters are not taken up by other drives)... and they are MSCDEX registered drives so they will be recognised in Dos and Dos emulated environments.
