Aaron Conners on Wikipedia

I noticed yesterday that Aaron Conners has no Wikipedia article (!). I thought about starting it, but I don't think I know enough about him. Will someone add something?

Chris' article is pretty robust, though.
Maybe he doesn't want to be in Wikipedia???

Just a thought...

He doesn't have to (or get to :P ) decide that. Wikipedia articles are written by "the people." Whether or not someone has a Wikipedia entry can be construed as a measure of importance.

Just look at the size of Knuckles the Echidna's article!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knuckles_the_Echidna

Is AC more important than Knuckles? I should say so! (Then again, AC was never a guardian of the master emerald...)
Of course those of us here are going to say he is more important than Knuckles, but in all reality, if you were to go abroad and take a poll, unfortunately chances are people will have heard of Knuckles and Sonic before they've heard of Aaron...
But if it upsets you that much, go ahead and start a Wikipedia Article on him, I'm sure others, in time, will add more... Chris' Wikipedia isn't very big right now either...

But on Wikipedia, it doesn't matter! There are no standards and no editor. The writer decides what's important enough for an article...

And the writer likely isn't going to be me, I'm afraid. I don't know enough. :|
It doesn't have to be much to get it started... Others can add to it later, if you really want to create one... CJ's Wikipedia is only about 2 paragraphs right now... But up to you, whatever... I rarely use Wikipedia to worry about what's in there and what isn't...

I'm not too sure about this at all guys......

Let's face it, we're all here because the man in the Fedora is pretty cool. No question. But there's got to be a seperation. Working on the Tex Murphy Wiki page is welcome challenge, it would be awesome if that were much more fleshed out.

Making a page for Aaron or Chris seems almost like disrespect. It's their private life. I'm sure I would not be happy to log on and find all my personal OR business information where I didn't want it. If they want to build their own page, so be it. But what I've learned here on the board over long years is that Chris is a private man.

Let's step away from the cliff, and leave CJ & AC lives (and wiki pages) alone. After all, none of us REALLY know them.

peace out
:D
Ditto from TOG, Jen.

(I was just about to go to bed, but I hasten to add that I mean no disrespect to anyone. I apologize if anything I've said can be construed as such  )

I use Wikipedia all the time, and so do other internet users; they use it to learn, in a way. So when the new game comes out, people might think "Who are these people?" and search for them. So then the Wiki article would be there to tell them, so they'll say "Oh... he did Amped? I liked that; maybe I'll like this new game too!" See what I mean? Wikipedia presence could be an advantage.

Also, Bruce Carver doesn't have a Wiki page. Surely he deserves at least a sentence or two? He sort of invented the golf sim as we know it and his use of technology was pretty revolutionary.

By the way, just to keep things clear, I did not write CJ's article. It was a little old and I added some words to update it. That's when I realized that AC and Mr.Carver's articles was totally blank. Anyone is free to edit it if anything's wrong.
There is always going to be arguments about Writers and Designers not getting the credit they deserve... Just look at the Strike Hollywood just went through over the writers not getting what they deserve...
They know the Web just as much as we do... If they really cared about Wikipedia or IMDB or Zoominfo, I'm sure they would have no trouble saying a few words about themselves... People want their Privacy...

Anyway, Supporting Aaron and Chris in their endeavors, such as new games and merchandise and whatnot is one thing, trying to delve into their personal lives is something else... I would like to know as much about Tex Murphy as anyone else on this board... Knowing about Chris Jones, isn't really that important to me... The Fact that Chris Jones IS Tex Murphy is important, but I don't need to know what CJ's favorite color is... I wouldn't mind knowing Tex's Favorite Color though... But there is a difference between the 2...
Besides, if CJ is anything like he is in Interview Videos I've seen, then I can pretty much say with 95% Certainty that CJ and Tex are COMPLETELY Two Separate people... Just one Example of many is the fact that CJ is extremely well groomed, while Tex on the other hand, uses his Fingers for a Comb...

Acting is just that, Acting... The Tex Murphy we all know and love, is Nothing like the Chris Jones we all "Don't Know", but respect on a professional level...

Okay, that's my 2 cents, and yes refunds can be gotten after filling out these forms in Triplicate... Forms must be signed by 2 witnesses and must be received no later than 30 minutes after completion...

Wikipedia pages don't have to delve into personal lives. It can be as simple as "This person worked on these projects and collaberated with these people.

Think of wikipedia as nothing more that a collective intellegence encyclopedia. It's about as reliable as Britannica or the World Book, but excels in that it can be updated by the second by anyone.

Sure that allows people to supply false information, but the people who live on wikipedia and the fans of certain pages (like that knuckles page) make sure things are set right.

So in summation, a wikipedia page for Chris and Aaron would be neat. I see no problems in listing the accomplishments of their careers in the videogames industry, and will say right now i am too lazy to help with this page in anyway :)
I gots a webcomic! http://yetanothercomic.com
I see along your lines veggie. If it were set up like the imdb resume page, no problem. I just see the slippery slope and wonder that if the guys really wanted a "web presence", they would do it themselves.

This is exactly what I was trying to say the whole time! This is not about invasion of privacy (and it never was! Image ).

I love wikipedia, but as a librarian I know that it can't compare Britannica and World Book for reliability. One of the things we have to teach students at the library where I work is not use Wikipedia for research papers. Some professors auto-fail papers over it. So I know Wikipedia's important because it's an automatic go-to for them.

They could do that, but they shouldn't have to. I'd say the "responsibility" lies with the fans. Surely they have more important things to do.

You've known all about the Tex universe for years, but other people don't. It took a lot of research for me to catch up, but I think research is fun. The average person won't do that. Think of it as a way to fill them in. We're just sharing information.
Let them create their own Wikipages. Or hire someone to do it. Or ask someone they know to do it.

Or as a last resort as a voice of what I hope to be sanity here - ASK THEM before you go ahead.

But please, for the sake of decency, don't just barge ahead and list everything you think you know about them up on Wikipedia. That's just rude.
