Major Pandora Plothole!

This is for both the computer game and novel. I was thinking about possible speeder puzzles and then it hit me. Getting onto the Roof of Rusty's Funhouse! I remember Mac Malden saying in the game it took forver for the police to find a way onto of the rooftop to search it and said they found a secret room with a ladder and a trap door.

Why didnt they just use their police speeders to get on top? Also why didnt Tex just use his speeder instead of getting the key from Mac in the game or breaking down the door in the novel?

Looks like they need to fix this by having electric fencing/forcefield lasers in VR Mode that was placed to prevent tampering with the watertower. All the more reason for an expansion pack.
Hah, thats a pretty interesting find. Maybe the building was too old and they thought if they landed a speeder on it, that it would fall through.

I thought about that but the police could just set the speeder on hover mode like Tex did at the Knickerbocker and drop down.

Unless Horton picked the lock he also had to get up onto the roof via speeder to take the photos of Emily from the watertower since Rusty's door was locked on arrival.
The Speeders have automatics settings installed from the factory and unless it is an authorized landing zone, a Speeder can't get within 10 feet of a roof top... It's a safety feature to prevent burglaries...

Did you get that from a novel? If so which one? Even police speeders have those limitations?
Police Speeders could over ride the Safety Feature if they really wanted to, but they are the Police, they are all about Safety, so unless Life is in danger they will not violate the Safety Protocols...

No I didn't get it from anywhere, I'm making stuff up as I go along, but it sounds good, don't it??? lol

Well it had me going.
Horton got up there some other way, because when you chase him, if you run into Rook's place he'll tell you that he just heard something up on his roof, but then You/Tex uses the way to the roof through Rusty's... Horton was waiting for a ride, so he couldn't have gotten up there by speeder, he had to have gone another way... Fire Escapes maybe???

Besides a Speeder on top of Rusty's would have been very noticeable... Horton couldn't have chanced that, so he would have had to have parked somewhere that wouldn't draw attention and then make his way to the roof tops... Even if he was getting dropped off, a speeder hovering over top of the buildings would have drawn attention...

I think Bafitis makes some good points in his last post.

Also, I'm not sure that you should interpret the fact that the cops didn't search the roof until they found the secret room to mean that the cops couldn't get to the roof. It probably means that the cops had no reason to search the roof until they found the secret room and a ladder leading to the roof.
Hey! 600 posts!
Congrats on the 600...

Boy do I feel like a Post Slut... lol You've been here almost 3 years and I've been here a little over a month and I've got half as many as you do... That's just sick... lol

Chatty Cathy?

Also, if you can remember which game a one-eyed cycloptic pink monster (with a shirt and pants on no less) said that to the main character you get 10 bonus points!

A One-Eyed Cyclops Pink Monster said "Chatty Cathy" to the Main Character...
Doesn't ring a bell...
Does the Monster have a name??? Was it a comical game, adventure, RPG, etc???

Or is this just a diversion to throw our Thread off track???

It was Grim Fandango. I'll just end the derailment here.
