Is in not possible that they just don't make that particular style any longer? But, I'm sure you must have already inquired as to that possibility. Or could it be that there were two Goorin Brothers at the time it was purchased? I really don’t know what to think – I would hate to think you/we were… No, forget it – that couldn’t be. I’m sure there must be a good explanation for this.

This could also mean they don't produce this exact same hat anymore.
Just like Herbert Johnson no longer makes the 'original' Indiana Jones Raiders fedora, although they offer a
factory-built close approximation:

from scratch from raw HJ Poet bodies, pounced, reblocked, bashed and more by none other than Steve Delk of

PS Melting, it does seem more narrow.
