"Tex Murphy - Project Fedora" is now live on Kickstarter.
I just wanted to add that I think the kickstarter page is a bit... I don't know, maybe underwhelming?
There is very few information, and maybe it could use some humour. It's very important to create an attractive page. Also, it's a bit hard to parse throught the rewards... this guy made some interesting comments about it all:
The only points where I disagree are with regards to the beta testing (I would pay to be a beta tester) and the content of the rewards. This game will be expensive to produce (I actually think US$ 450.000 is very little money for it, but I trust these guys); offering big rewards would take away precious resources. That's one thing that I would like to praise: this looks like a very realistic kickstarter project, with no false promises and impossible dreams. Anyway, I agree that offering PDFs at higher pledges is only confusing and a bit useless (we know this content will be EVERYWHERE as soon as it is released).

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/05 ... ct-fedora/But I’m a little concerned both about the sparsity of information on the page – little effort has gone in outside of the lovely video – and by the really dreadful reward tiers. Not only are they incredibly slapdash and difficult to parse, but they’re not exactly enticing. Like, why put a PDF of a 16 year old novel in the $150 section? How about enticing people at more sensible lower prices with things that are literally free to distribute. And I’m increasingly unimpressed with games offering “beta test the game” at the higher tiers. Beta testing is something you pay people to do.

This is incredible! It's only the first day and already 15% of the project is funded! We'll reach the goal in a few days if the rate keeps steady. Everytime I refresh the page, the pledge amount increases. Awesome!
Now who said again, that it's bad that Chris starts the Kickstarter campaign so late?
In retrospect it was even a smart move. Imagine if this started simultaneously with Shadowrun, Wasteland, Double Fine, etc...

Excellent. I am pleasantly surprised by the response so far. Looks like they are on track to exceed their goal, and I hope they do because 450k seems a little tight. Al Lowe wanted more than that and he is just making a damn cartoon remake of his game.

Alright. I must play the lottery tonight. That might determine how much I can donate.
By the way, this is a stupid question (and one that I can probably search for and find the answer, but I'll be lazy and just ask), if I donate some now and then realize I can donate more, are my donations cumulative? (i.e., if I give $500 now and $250 later am I at the $750 level?) Probably not a huge deal, but I was just curious.

Yeah you can increase your pledge incrementally.dcat151 wrote:if I donate some now and then realize I can donate more, are my donations cumulative? (i.e., if I give $500 now and $250 later am I at the $750 level?).
