Went and saw Avatar in IMAX 3D... Kick ass film... The special effects are just too awesome... Goes right up there with Disney's Christmas Carol... I had not idea it was that long, I thought maybe an hour and 40 minutes or something, but that thing is 2 hours and 31 minutes long... Definitely worth the money...

Saw Valkyrie.
This was a decent film if you like political historical WWII dramas.
I had no idea the Germans tried to assassinate Hitler so many times.
"We must show the world we are not all like him!" Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg
Entertaining film, even though the ending is fairly obvious.
Not sure why some people didn't like this.
I did fall asleep for a short part... but it wasn't due to the film. It was because I was so tired from the night before.
The only complaint I had was that they had British actors playing Germans. I did like how they transitioned from German to English at the beginning to avoid subtitles.

My sentiments as well. The movie was very good, but a little slow moving at times. Then again, it wasn't designed to be an action/adventure film. As a historical/docu-movie it needed to make its point and this movie did exactly that. A good rainy night rental if you enjoy intrigue and WWII films.

Just watched Duplicity with Julia Roberts and Clive Owen. OK, so in truth I watched it with my wife; they were just the main stars. If you have not seen this movie I highly recommend it. Very interesting coporate spying with a big surprise ending. 3 out of 4 stars.

Watched the movie "Gamer" yesterday... It was different... I need to watch it again to decide whether or not I like it... It jumped around a lot, by that I mean they made the screen flicker, you know the kind of interference you use to get with old fashion TV...
Basically the movie is about implants in your brain... And if you're rich enough, you can pay to control other people and if you're poor enough, you get paid to be controlled by the rich... The movie is centered around a Death Row Inmate... If you are on Death Row and survive 30 "Games" then you are given a Pardon and released...
I recommend giving it a try if you are into that Sci-Fi Futuristic Technology style movie...
I also Watched Halloween II recently, the Rob Zombie remake... I have to say, I feel like he Butchered John Carpenter's movies... While it isn't to bad as a horror flick, it stinks as a Halloween movie... Not sure why Carpenter agreed to allow these movies to be done... I just hope that he doesn't continue with remaking 4 & 5 or any of the others...
So unless you are a Rob Zombie fan, I don't recommend these... While I liked the first one, because it showed more of Michael Myers as a child and more of his Hospitalization, that's about where it ends... But that's just my opinion...

Saw Arthur and the Invisibles.
Cute movie.... clearly a kids film.
I think I would have enjoyed this more if I was either a kid or was watching it with a child.
It wasn't bad, but it felt like it was all over the place.... They would break out into dance routines in the middle of fights. Story felt a little contrived.... but that seems to be the case with most kids movies anyway.
Was a little surprised with the sexual undertone in a couple scenes being it was a kids film, but these scenes may have been to appeal to adults watching. Fairly innocent and I don't think a kid would understand the undertone or be affected by it.
Again.. fun, but definitely for kids.

Lestat, you'll find that you like a bunch of animations once you're watching them with your child... Somehow once you have your child you will be able to see certain things through a child's eye... I can't really explain it, but you'll know what I mean when it starts to happen to you...

Okay, had a good week in movies this week and the week ain't over yet...
Watched Saw VI the other night... Not a bad addition to the series, though it would seem that they have finally closed it... While there is potential for there to be more, it seems like they are done with the Saw movies... At least that is the message I got from it... It was also kind of short, just 92 minutes long...
The movie itself was as expected, kewl devices that will rip you apart if you don't rip yourself apart in a short amount of time... It centered around a Risk Assessor for a Health Insurance Company... How fitting for the USA's current political status... Apparently Jigsaw {aka John} was denied Health Insurance when he was diagnosed with Cancer {well he was denied coverage for a cutting edge new procedure that he felt had the possibilities of curing him}... So in the Box that he left his wife at the end of part 5 were a series of envelopes that her and his successor were to fulfill... Kind of a last wish type thing... And the puzzles and story goes on from there...
Watched Surrogates the other night as well... Bruce Willis plays an FBI agent in a world where going outside is left to the Robots... in the future we live our lives through our Robot Surrogate... We are no longer at risk of being injured or whatnot because all we do is lay in a bed except when we have to piss or whatever... Someone develops a weapon though that kills the Surrogate and the operator at the same time... Bruce's Robot gets damaged so he has to go out in the field after having not been outside for years... Pretty good movie if you are into the whole Robot Futuristic style, I recommend it... Bruce Willis doesn't disappoint...
Funny thing, it has James Cromwell in it, you might remember him as the Creator of the Robots from I Robot... Well guess what, he is the Creator of the Robots in Surrogates as well... Plus he was the inventor of Warp Drive in Star Trek... He doesn't play a very big part in this though... A bigger part than he had in I Robot, but still not a very big part...
And I watched Pandorum with Dennis Quaid... I need to watch this one again, I think I missed some stuff... It's about a colony space ship on its way to a planet many light years away... During the course of the mission some sort of outbreak takes place and people transform into creatures of some kind and begin killing those who were still human... A bit on the strange side, so like I said I gotta watch this one again...
Speaking of Dennis Quaid, I watched another movie of his called Horsemen not too long ago, a couple of weeks at most... This was another strange one... It was a Murder Mystery type... Quaid plays a Widowed Detective... The murders all point to the Biblical Revelations of the 4 Horsemen... It was a bit twisted, but if you're interested this type of movie then by all means you won't be dissatisfied...

Concerning Saw VI.
They are making one last Saw and it is going to be in 3d.
One last one to end the series and tie up the entire game as a whole and finally reveal what Kramer was intending. I have been waiting to find out what happened to Dr. Gordon for a while... and that is supposed to be revealed.
Funny thing about myself
I actually want to be a risk assessor/underwriter. Taking 1 first of 9 insurance courses for it.
Material is dry as hell and sometimes I just want to shoot myself while reading, but I guess if I want to move up I have to put myself through this. =P
Lets just hope some crazy doesn't get pissed off at me for denying them life insurance =P
Also, you know James Cromwell was in Little House on the Prairie ?
Wife was watching it the other day and I recognized him... only thing was that he was only in his late 30s.

I forgot that there was even a game out there... Gonna have to get it and play it since I've enjoyed all of the movies...
Dr. Gordon, is he the one that cut off his foot at the end of the first Saw??? I just assumed he bled out in the hallway after he crawled out of the room...
Maybe Jigsaw saved him and nursed him back to health and in the end he'll kill Jigsaw's successor and his wife... That would seem a fitting end...
So there is to be a 7th... Lots of things seem to be going in the 3D direction... I mean the technology is just amazing for it now... Especially after seeing movies like Disney's Christmas Carol and Avatar, 3D is the way to do...

Watched The Final Destination today... I only watched the 2-D one, gonna try the 3-D version later... Not a bad addition to the Series... A bit short and unexciting though... Some creative ways for people to die though, I will give the Series that...
But unless you are a die hard Final Destination fan I wouldn't urge you to rush out and buy it or rent it, just wait for it to come on TV...
Gonna watch UP and the New Terminator over the next couple of days...

Just saw the Blind Side.
Best football movie I have seen since Rudy, The Program or Any Given Sunday.
I was impressed with Sandra Bullocks acting. I find it amusing that she is also up for a Razy and an Oscar in the same year =P The Little kid was pretty good too. Good movie for football fans and people that want to be inspired.
