The Prestige was fantastic! Also, I highly recommend The Illusionist; another great movie.
Saw Final Fantasy: Spirits Within today. Pretty good movie, really good sci-fi background and effects, top notch CGI people, and a decent story line. Not great, but respectable good.

I loved the Prestige.
Didn't see that ending coming.
Bowie as Tesla was awesome.

Just finished watching The Fountain with Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz. The acting was great but the story line was VERY confusing. Anyone see this movie? If so, any ideas what was going on? I mean, I know about the "tree of life" thing, but the whole movie was a bit surreal, to say the least.

I keep forgetting about the Prestige. One day I'll get around to watching it. Right after I finally watch Caddyshack. And Beverly Hills Cop 2. And Schindler's List. And...etc.
I saw The Fountain! Which part of the story was confusing? The past, the present or the future?

Saw most of Uncharted last night... Seems like a decent film, I plan on watching it later tonight or tomorrow where I don't sleep on and off through it...
Also went to a Preview of Disney's A Christmas Carol today with my son... I really want to see this movie now, it looks fabulous... If you have an old Train Museum near you, check and see if Disney is stopping by with this exhibit... If so, I highly recommend going if you are a Disney fan...
Also saw a Movie called Laid To Rest... Really neat horror flick, could have been a bit longer with a bit more background story involving the killer and his reasons for doing what he did, but other than that it was a bit different... If you're a horror buff, I recommend it...

Well, Vracar, I get the idea they lived a long time and went through many turbulent times and events. Finally, after several centuries, Izzi gets some disease or she just is overcome by the death eventuality. So, Tommie tries to find a cure for old age and death. That much seems rather obvious.
Now, what's with the Yoga thing inside a bubble? Its like something from a bad LSD trip (or a good LSD trip for others). And, when he drinks the sap from the "tree of life" he then becomes part of the geography. In my estimation, "What a sap!" OK, bad pun, but you get the drift - I hope.

The yoga thing, I'd imagine, is part of the little details that got lost between 2000 AD and 3000 AD. He's the only human we see around, so I almost see this form of space travel as a heightened state of consciousness.
As for the drinking of the sap, well...perhaps taking from within the tree of life creates life, much like the Mayan creation story that Izzi exclaims partway through. I think. Maybe.
P.S. Bad joke! BAAAD!

I didn't try to analyze the fountain too much. I think it was meant to be a surreal movie.
It's like a painting.... when you try to explain art, it loses its magic. Rembrandt isn't meant to be explained, you just witness and absorb.
Anyway, finally saw 12 Monkeys. WOW!!!!
That was an awesome film. I was really impressed with Brad Pitts acting. He plays a great insane goof ball. And that theme song was priceless!!! I'm a big fan of time travel movies.
This is a must see for any sci-fi fan.
*SPOILER*
Could you imagine witnessing your own death??
Also saw The Lake House. This is a love it or hate it movie. I am not a big fan of love story movies but this one has an interesting twist. Like I said before, I really like movies that involve time. There are some inconsistencies that don't make sense in the movie, but this is one of those movies where analyzing it too much takes away from it. It isn't like Back to the Future where picking it apart is actually fun. This is a movie I recommend as a film to watch with your g/f.
Next on the list is The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

Okay I was wrong about Uncharted, I wouldn't recommend this... It was kind of stupid...
*Spoiler, I'm pretty much gonna lay out the movie for ya*
It's about a Documentary Film Crew who crash lands on, you guessed it, an Uncharted Island... They were headed to another Island where it was believed that a Jaguar was killing people and so strange things start happening... Yadda, Yadda, Yadda, one thing leads to another and everyones dies, but some of their tapes were found and so tells the story...
Finally ended up watching "Rainman", yeah I know it's kind of old, but I'm not much of a Cruise fan, so I never bothered to watch it, but it was on and so I left the channel alone while I was doing some paperwork and wow, it's a pretty good movie... Anyone know if Hoffman won an award for that??? He was great... Still didn't care for Cruise, but Hoffman was awesome...

Just saw Monsters Vs Aliens.
Very fun movie. I was surprised how many jokes in that movie were directed at Adults.
Not many kids would know some of these... ex.. Axel Foley song, or Go Home E.T. or Code Brown, I need to change my shorts. etc.
It's great they put those in there. It made it much more entertaining.
Great movie for Parents and Kids.

Okay I watched The Wrestler... Good movie for the most part...
Am I the only one who didn't like the ending??? Gonna Spoil it for you if you haven't seen it, so be warned...
Spoiler*
I understand the man's desire to do what he loved, but did it really have to end like that??? What are we suppose to think??? He started clutching his chest and stumbling around the ring, so you assume that he is about to have another Heart Attack... So did he Die after making his final move off the turnbuckle??? Did he survive and retire and live happily ever after with Pam {Tomei}??? What kind of ending is that, he goes diving through the air and then the credits roll... Come on... Ending Sucked Big Time...
I also watched a movie called "Winter Of Frozen Dreams"... If you are into movies based on True Stories, then you'll like it... When I put it on my list on Netflix, I had no idea it was based on a True Story... I was expecting it to be a bit different... I found it to be a very slow moving and boring film...
Saw "Gone Baby Gone"... Good Movie... Though I didn't care too much for Cassey Affleck... His face and eyes looked like he was high the whole time and his attitude and personality didn't help countering that feeling either... But the movie all around was a pretty good movie...
I also watched Armageddon... Yes I've seen it before and many times over... Just happen to have it on the TV today, so I'm putting it in here with my other reviews... Armageddon is a great movie...

You can think of it like he lived in two different worlds. In one he was king and adored by his the people in that world. In the other, he was a worthless loser, hated even by his own daughter. He had come to the point where he really couldn't live in the former world anymore because he was too old and feeble for it. But he could die there with dignity, doing what he loved and surrounded by those who love him. What better ending could any man ask?
