The last film you´ve seen and your thoughts about it

You're not going to believe this, but I saw 2001 for the first time last week. Great movie, but it reminded me of Star Trek: The Motion Picture - a lot of special effects and music but too short on interesting dialogue. I mean, HAL talked more than anybody! And he's not any body!

Wow! That's amazing. I saw it over 40 years ago at the Fox Theater when it first came out in Cinerama. Did you happen to read the book first?
HAL is a hoot!

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
Apparently not even death can stop Heath Ledger from starring in movies. He's in Terry Gilliam's upcoming film The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus.

Hey Doc, in the infamous words of the great Johnathan Winter, "I saw the movie, I missed the book." Please tell me it hasn't been 40 years!

I did see Memento.

Watched "Nothing But The Truth"... Kate Beckinsale is great in this movie... I enjoyed it very much... It's basically about a Report who gets a Tip from a government official of some kind who reveals the name of a CIA Operative and the Report refuses to give up the name of her source and goes to jail for it, Matt Dillon the Attorney for the government did quite well in this film as well... I recommend if you like the government conspiracy type movies...

The Parnassus thing was Heath Ledger's last movie. I think he finished his bits, but he'd not included his daughter in his will (obviously not expecting to die so young). So all the other major actors waived their salaries and gave what the would have charged to his daughter. Very self-less.

Watched Scooby Doo The Beginning with my son tonight... It was okay, but they used different people than the ones from the previous 2 movies... It was also rather short, but I guess they wanted to make sure they kept kid's attention...

Went and saw the new Coen Brothers movie, "A Serious Man." It was a strange, unnerving film that purposely lacked any sort of resolution. It ends just as abruptly as it begins. It's still worth watching. The acting's great, the story is well developed and it's just as genuinely funny as it's maddening.

Also, there's Jefferson Airplane, and I ended up driving home with, "Don't you want somebody to love! Don't you need somebody to love!" stuck in my head.

I just got back from a midnight showing of Zombieland.

Best zombie movie ever. Not scary, but loads upon loads of fun. Bill Murry was in it. Not just a cameo - a lot, actually. Played himself. Anyway, great fun. Never a boring moment. If you like zombies, you'll love Zombieland.
Zombie Land was definitely awesome.

You haven't seen "The Prestige?" That is an incredible movie!!! Nolan was a genius directing that! One of the few movies I can say was better than the book!
