I knew this holiday weekend was going to be brutal, but seriously, Less than 2500 at 5PM Eastern... ugh. This is why I wasn't happy about the campaign just barely scraping by each day... sure, we'll probably have a bump at the end, but days like today and Thursday are just flat out nerve racking... I can't imagine how the Jane Jensen/Al Lowe fans (of themselves for that matter) felt considering they were much further behind at this time in their campaigns...

And yes, I know, those campaigns made it etc etc... It doesn't make me feel any better in the here and now.

I really need to get my mind off Tex.

Aww, don't cry/wail/moan  Jane, what can we do to distract you?
This is how we Kick It! GO BIG (Finish) or Go Home!

I think Jane needs to concentrate making some more funny .gif files! I'd love to see some more.

We're nearly at $4,000 for the day now. Maybe we can squeeze in another $1,000-$2,000 or so before day's end.

I realized something today... this Kickstarter is actually 32 days long, not 31. The "Days to go" number is the number of full days left. As I write this that means there are 20 days, 6 hours remaining.

This means that today's minimum goal was lower than I thought: $8,436.

We will need some good updates, and hopefully some press Tuesday-Friday this week. That will help boost us well over $300,000. Chris and Aaron should avoid making any major updates before the US holiday is over unless it largely targets international backers (like Friday's update).

I also want to note, we have had 78 backers so far today, and are on target for similar numbers to the past few days. This means we're getting lower contributions, and those are the people with more leeway to increase their contribution towards the end. So from a backers standpoint, today really isn't that bad.
Palindrome. $276,672. :)
Great job, guys, getting 2.5k from the 62% goal! We would actually be there right now, but we lost a $5,000 backer this morning. Way to stay strong!

Hey, thanks for the info, Hamm! Considering that unfortunate (but expected and not at all unusual) withdrawal, this was a strong showing after all for a Saturday in the low period. For those despairing already (and I say this lovingly): get a grip. Channel your frustration into either 1) redoubling recruitment efforts or 2) finding something other to do than F5ing for the next couple of weeks.

This will happen, people.

By the way, I took your word for it that we lost a $5k backer this morning - it does seem like we've had more than three on that tier before - and used the info to try to bring a little energy back into the KS comments.

Um....where did that intel come from? I'm pretty sure that the 5k's have stayed at 3 and the 10k at 2. I'm going to take that "lost a 5k" with a grain of salt.

We were at 2400 or so on my lunch break today and at 3900 now. Unless it was a troll doing it for chuckles....
At 12:30am CST was when I ended my chat with LockeCole and Trilaanus and went to bed. When I got up at 7am CST, I checked Kicktraq and saw that we had earned (roughly) $250 from 50 backers, which translates to $5/backer. I checked to see if we'd had an increase in such backers, and it did not appear to be the case. Then, I remembered that yesterday morning, SpaceVenture had a defecit for the day because of a backer dropping back or out; it took them til about noon CST to get back in the green for the day. With this insight, I checked the higher tiers looking for any changes. What I remembered from yesterday was 4 backers at $5000; what I saw this morning, and still see now, it that there were only 3 $5000 backers.

This is what I saw. This is the reason for my claim. And, if you check the charts, you will see that we would be consistent for today (which is to say, we made about 2% of the goal throughout the course of the day) if another 5000 were added to today's current amount. My observations from this morning fit with this evening's data. If you don't believe me, check it for yourself.

I've done a lot already. I've spent money on ads and I plan to buy one more (even after I'd said I'd stop). I've spent many many person-hours working on things to hep promote project fedora, and I'm working on more. All that time and money is gone regardless of whether it succeeds or not. I'll be so sad if it doesn't make it.

The fact that AC and CJ even offered $150 DLC in the first place is frustrating in itself. Thank goodness they changed their minds, but it shouldn't have happened to start with (and I say this lovingly).
