Yeesh. That Tex Murphy. He's some ladies man.

More intriguing to me than the very intriguing question of who the benefactor is, is how often this mysterious stranger checks in with the board, and what sort of influence we unknowingly yield.

Then again, I wonder if it maybe isn't a friend from our past who has discontinued their posting, but keeps reading up for whatever reason.

Oh the possibilities.
Here's another possibility:

Suppose the site hasn't changed hands at all. Suppose that whoever had it a month ago still has it butexpects that by linking it to unofficialtexmurphy.com (which is very active) the statistics on the texmurphy.com site will go up, thereby increasing its value.

It's devious, but a definite possiblity.
The site has been purchased and transfered away from it's previous owner, that is a promise.
I am not anyone special, I assure you.

Best wishes to you all.
Its James Earl Jones guys! Seriously, who else could it be...

Or Nilo wanted to get in on the domain sitting act to get a few extra bucks.

Seriously though, thanks 'mysterious' benefactor :) We really appreciate it.

He does sound like James Earl Jones, doesn't he? Wow. Thanks a whole lot whoever you are. Seeing as how you believe you don't think you're anyone special, I kinda think I know who you are. But hey ... you remain in the dark, as do my opinions on the matter.

Thanks again!
I'm not fat ... I'm festively plump.
Come to think of it, "www.texmurphy.com" is easier to type than "www.unofficialtexmurphy.com/phpbb/index.php"...

Well, I'm not sure who you are, but my thanks anyway. I hope one day you can let us know for sure.

I have the board bookmarked, so I just click the link. You should try it, Rock.
I have the forum bookmarked but I'm too lazy to aim my mouse and click the browser buttons. So I just type u in my address bar and press down to select from the dropdown list of recently visited sites starting with that letter (usually this one is first) :)
I bet you always wanted to know that. :D

I just built the link right into Firefox, along with my RSS feeds. 2 clicks and I'm here.

I bet you always wanted to know THAT.
I actually use Sai's method as well - and I'm glad people know a joke when they see one Andy

Joke?
It's also easier to type "www.texmurphy.com" on school computers, where the url isn't saved. Before, I would usually open google and type "unofficial tex", and the first link was this message board...

"Remaining."
Thanks, Jim.
