"Tex Murphy - Project Fedora" is now live on Kickstarter.

I just took the plunge.. (turns out I could spare it :D) Chris and Aaron.. please make something amazing with my $250 ;)
I'm a long time lurker of these forums. I've been a Tex fan since the late 90s, and am glad that Tex is FINALLY coming back!

The Kickstarter is so exciting! $47,000 and counting in just over two hours! Awesome pitch video! And funny too!

I agree that putting the word "DLC" in the rewards is a risky and bad choice. It's too early to talk about DLC. That should only begin once the game has been out for a few months. Then the DLC could be sold for $10-20 so that more casual Tex fans would think they are getting something completely new and fresh, not something that was cut from the game to be re-sold for more money. “On-disc DLC” and the DLC for Mass Effect 3 created some controversy, even though they claimed it was only worked on until after the main game was finished.

As a super hardcore Tex fan that has already donated to the Kickstarter, I am excited to play extra “DLC” cases, and would pay $150 for EACH one, even if there were 10 of them. However, 99% of the people that we need in order to get the $450,000 are not super hardcore Tex fans. They will be turned off by the fact that they need to pay $135 extra to get the full game experience.
well I came home from work & Its time to celebrate with a chinese meal, bottle of wine & 20 instant scartch lottery tickets & all the winning were for tex. But..........I only won $6.00.
too bad I was hoping to give tex something big.

btw how does the "Add $20 for shipping work"? do we have to add it manually or is it automatic?
Okay, I can see how the DLC angle is a bad idea now. Although, I, personally, do not hate DLC.

cool I just amended it.
Why is the delivery date December 2012? That’s about 6 months after mid-June. On the live RetroNick interview, Chris said it would take about a year to finish the game, and I think it could even take two years.
Darn, time to work now, I'll have to *gulp* stop watching the pledge count for a couple hours....

Wow, went to sleep, woke up, and it was already at nearly 50k. Awesome.
The video is great!

I do agree with others here and on other forums:
- DLC tier is high. Especially in relation to the digital download. It's likely there'd be a lot who'd up their pledge if it was put nearer the early tiers. Right now I see many not being able to make the jump and them losing potential cash.

- More info on the Kickstarter page would be nice, the live interview Chris did last night and past interviews have had a lot more info that would go well there. They already have a solid idea of what they're doing with this game and lots of things already in the works so they could really beef it up. Hopefully they can also answer the questions in the backer comments. I guess they must be pretty tired though

Also I hope they can get the guide about donating without a credit card up soon. Already many asking about it or feeling they can't contribute, I worry those people won't come back later.

EDIT: Now its over 50k during writing this. :D

All i'm going to say that is "The Ultimate Detective box set of "Under a Killing Moon", "Pandora Directive", and "Overseer" in special edition Collector’s Box" won me over :) Just have to start saving the extra couple of hundred.
Never mind what I said earlier, apparently I'm going to be coming back with every free moment I have making breakfast.

Frankly, this Chance is putting me in a Trance....as if someone....has reversed the Polarity and found that it may solve our 14 year-long problem.
