Yeah I remember Pirates 3... I went to the Movies to see that and I hate leaving when everyone else does, so the wife and I just sat there and we got up near the end of the credits and the screen got real bright so we stopped and watched and we were like "WOW"... lol

Flawless, starring Michael Caine and Demi Moore.
A diamond heist thriller. Demi Moore plays a bright, driven and beautiful executive at the London Diamond Corporation and finds herself frustrated by a glass ceiling after years of faithful employment. Michael Caine is a the nighttime janitor at London Diamond with a startling amount of knowledge about how the company runs. Together, they plan to steal some diamonds. - It's not your usual diamond heist movie and has a few surprising and interesting twists. Also, Demi Moore proves she's not just another pretty face (and figure.) Her acting is absolutely incredible in this film. Michael Caine's great acting, of course, goes without saying. A must see - but limited distribution.
Leatherheads, starring George Looney and Renee Zellweger.
This is supposed to be a wacky comedy. Not very wacky, not very funny, but mildly entertaining. I enjoyed it, but cannot highly recommend it.

Speaking of Michael Caine, I've just seen Sleuth, with him and Jude Law. T'was directed by Kenneth Brannagh.
T'was a truly memorable film. I recommend it, if you can stand the artsy-fartsy stuff, as Jim would probably phrase it

Speaking of Sleuth (and Michael Caine,) did you know that Michael Caine starred in the original (1972) film version of Sleuth with Sir Laurence Olivier? In that one, Caine played the younger fellow.
A number of story details were changed in the remake which, I think, detracted greatly from the beauty and believability of the original story. If you haven't seen it, check out the original.
Far superior, IMHO.

Several posts back, in this thread, was some talk about I Am Legend and the Omega Man and VonGlower mentioned that there was yet another, earlier film based on the same book entitled The Last Man On Earth.
I was pretty sure that this film was available onlline, and I found it today. At this link:
http://www.archive.org/details/the-last-man-on-earth , you can watch the entire movie in streaming video, or download it in a variety of formats. Free!
Check it out.

The last film I had seen in the theater wasn't much to write about. I watched the 25th Hour and LA Confidential earlier today (I've seen them both many times before). I highly recommend anyone who missed those for some reason to check them out though.

LA Confidential is my all time favorite movie. Such great dialogue, and action, and just enough humor and suspense and mystery all jumbled up into one...i love it. Great Flick!

The last film I saw was Southland Tales, which was the $#it. Just look at the cast...
It's got...
The Rock
Sarah Michelle Geller
Sean William Scott
John Lovitz
Cristopher Lambert
Mandy Moore
Justin Timberlake
Kevin Smith is credited, but I'll have to watch it again to see if I can find him.

Southland Tales: That was one crazy movie. I loved it, but had to see it at least twice to figure out some of the plot details.

This is about the right point where me and Mr. The Old Guy leap into a discussion about spaghetti westerns ca. anno 1965.
Mr. TOG? Care to comment?

I concur. The Good, the Bad & the Ugly is the all-time single greatest western ever made.
And for my own part, the best film ever made.
