I wish I could access it but texmurphy.com is blocked at my work saying it is sexually explicit.
I gues Tex really is a ladies man.

I tried searching through the WHOIS database to see who the current owner is, but I haven't been able to find it yet. I'm not sure, but the regestrant seems to be through domainsbyproxy, which hides the owner information. The only useful information that I could find was that it was updated on Nov. 19, 2006. just a few days ago.
UAKMposter was negotiating with the last owner. Maybe he was finally successful. I haven't seen a post from him lately to verify it.

Oh, great. Fantastic. [/sarcasm]

Probably due to the previous owner's content.

Does this mean I have to tell my mom I am now sexually explicit?

Does this mean you're the sole reason for the site still being blocked?
(just kidding

)

Well I'll be darned.

Umm .. ::looks around sheepishly, and then a lightbulb goes off::
I am actually responsible, so like ... um, please send me ten dollars a piece everyone. Yeah. Thank you. Bye.

Hmmm...with apologies to Mr. Malloy, I'd say the likeliest candidates are either Aaron (he'd have the necessary funds, he checks this board occasionally and he has of course a vested interest in Tex's well-being), Chris (funds, interest, and possibly a desire to stay off the radar, hence the anonymity) or even Aaron's new employers (funding'd be easy for them, and the fact that they'd invest in that particular domain name gives rise to some interesting speculation about what's in store for Tex. If they are, the anonymity would make sense as well, since developers like to keep these kinds of things quiet.) Not sure why'd they'd link here, but I suppose this site is a source of good press already in existence, not to mention nicely designed (Thanks again, James, for all your work).
I could be wrong on any or all of it, of course, but everybody else on the board seems on the level, (yes, even JTOG

) and I can't imagine those kinds of dealings being kept covert for long (if at all). I'd want to spread the good news as fast as possible, wouldn't you? In any case, looks like christmas came early this year for the Tex community...
I wonder if there's anybody on this board that likes mysteries and playing detective?
Naaah!

To all: You're welcome.
Texmurphy.com will link here for the foreseeable future.
I'd like to remain anonymous.
Thanks.

Many thanks to our mysterious benefactor!

This anonymity is intriguing. The kind person who donated the prices for our caption competition a while back wanted to remain anonymous as well. Makes you wonder if we have a huge celebrity among us.

Which reminds me I never did show off my prize.
Not my best side (plus I just drank a decent amount of alcohol,) but hey it's what I'm holding that's important.
