OPEN LETTER TO THE COMMUNITY - HELP THE KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN
Why don't we adopt the DLC and DRM FREE in our signatures everywhere we post?? Regarding the project homepage at kickstarter and bigfinishgames, I sent a message yesterday to Chris and Aaron, stating that both pages should really be spruced up to XXI century standards, in regards to page layout, visuals and eye-candy, as well as more juicy content..
This is a visual age much more diferent from the 90's, and the package count as much as the content. They responded they were on the process of revamping the pages.
Also they shoud have a YouTube page solely reserved to Project Fedora and previous Tex Adventures, with a layout oozing adventure..

Heh, Carmageddon just now posted an update moving to DRM free as well.
Lesson to all Kickstarter people. Noooooobody wants DRM. Nobody.Carmageddon wrote:DRM FREE!
That’s right you heard correctly! A downloadable DRM free version of the game! The DRM free version of the game won’t be available at the same time we launch the first release of the PC game through Steam – it will be introduced as soon as we can, afterwards. And obviously some of the stuff that comes with the Steam version won’t be supported… But you’ll be getting complete freedom to play Single Player and LAN multiplayer without the need to install Steam or be connected to the internets. We are adding it to the $15 level, so it’s the same price as the Steam download version. And if you pledge for the DRM free version, we’ll also send you the Steam code so you can still play immediately and take advantage of the Steam features, if you want.
It may fall on deaf ears due to policy but I contacted Kickstarter staff using the "Contact" at the bottom of the Kickstarter site regarding editing the tiers on the Tex Murphy campaign. Worth a shot?

Yeah I agree. They should just make it so that if a tier is edited, all the backers of that tier are notified via email and private message on the site to make it transparent.
How did Jane edit hers?
The Big Finish team and Jane swapped some goodwill so maybe they could ask Jane how she modified them?

red is agressive and don`t you think it will scare away some potential, but too sensitive backers?
something like DRM&DLC FREE in more tolerate colours would be good, i presume

The red circle with a strike through it is a pretty universally understood symbol. Remember the Ghostbusters logo?my voice just wrote:red is agressive and don`t you think it will scare away some potential, but too sensitive backers?
Someone on backer comments has suggested they do something like Carmageddon has done which also uses the circle with a strikethrough (but with DLC too rather than just DRM).

agressive tones is slightly more suitable for carmageddon, then tex
but it`s just a thought from the point of view of human psyche, you know, pretty universally understood symbol to stop and don`t go there

I don't think it's the aggressive tone they're after, but rather images conveying the message of DRM-free and DLC-free because some potential backers can't or aren't watching the update videos which take longer than a quick glance. These people are doing a quick in-&-out, not stopping to really research what the Kickstarter's truly & completely offering. Hence, shorten the message to a brief non-video image.
Sounds easy enough. Anyone tell Chris & Aaron yet?
