Yeah, I saw it on the news last night. SA is having incredible flood problems. Tragic.

As for 2012, the Maya (not Mayan) calendar merely ended in the year 2012, they did NOT predict the end of the world in that year. Their calenday simply went to 2012 and no further. I am reading a book titled In The Courts Of The Sun by Brian D'Amato regarding the Maya so-called end of the world. Yes, the book is fictional, but like its comtemporaries, it includes a lot of factual data coming from Maya ruins, glyphs, etc. I just thought it was interesting.

BTW, Baf, I don't think anyone is pointing the finger at you or accusing you of erroneous statements. Like you, our "siblings" here at UOTM are essentially posting their thoughts, likes and dislikes. Please do not take offense so easily. The world is at war but may their be peace in the Tex Murphy valley.

Don't look now but Melborune is about to cop it big time. Did we do something to piss god off? seems like Australia is going through a biblical flood.

well I understand Victoria's north is still effected, Brisbane is still getting heavy rains. Adelaide is fine an sunny. I think the worst of it is over.

I hope so. California in the USA had been hard hit by heavy rains and floofing as well as some mud slides. Hey! Maybe the end of the world IS near!

I just saw some comparison footage compared to Katrina.. It looks as if Yasi will be much worse.

One of my employers is in QLD at the moment for a conference so I hope he's alright.

That looks quite ugly. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the best.
