Wow, great job James. I think it'd be great for introducing newcomers to the series. It does such a great job of describing the series up until now and their appeal. I can agree with a lot of what you said. The scenes from the games you chose fit really well too.

So cool! Poster looks awesome as well! I agree with what the others say, if it wasn't for you, there probably wouldn't be us. The friendships I've made here I cherish everyday. Funny thing is, it feels like I've watched many of you "grow up", find love, fulfill dreams, start careers, get married. It's been a joy.
Thank you James.
Hugs!

No I think James could defend that. The story was more personal and deep. It was a much more emotional story. I remember crying as I watched poor, sweet, stupid Tex falling for Sylvia. I also remember being absolutely terrified of Big Jim Slade in the hotel room. I was hiding in the closet and thought it was safe to come out and BAM! Shot and killed by Jim. And then that great kiss at the end with Tex and Chelsee made me so happy. I loved that scene after all the hard work and heart breaks that Tex went through to finally get his girl.Bjyman wrote:Two things caught my attention as someone who is familiar with Tex. The first was that I didn't know that Overseer was originally named The Poisoned Pawn. Second is that James doesn't consider Overseer to be a step back from Pandora. That may not be an easy position to defend.
What Overseer lacked in technology and game play, it made up for it in quality story telling. While it's my least favorite story because it saddened me so much, I can see why James might love it.

Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.

I see it the same way I vew Indiana Jones. If Last Crusade (Overseer) has a higher production value, better acting and all around better and more complete story, Lost Ark (UAKM and Pandora combined) has a raw edge to it that was lost in the change, and was dearly missed.
There has to be a compromise somewhere in between, which has yet to be found by both duos.

I think Overseer was scaled down because of the Intel deal and was never an intended direction for Tex. My take on it is to shoot for a game that knocks Pandora out of the water while staying true to the other games as well. Overseer probably had the best intense scenes in terms of timed gameplay that should be combined with Pandora's freedom and some of Under A Killing Moon's humor.
I'm also glad for the all the work on this site and miss other webmasters such as Stefan (sp?)and Matthew Buckstein.
