A sad day for Adventure gamers. Lucasarts gets layed off

Funny you should mention him - I was just in Louisville last weekend and found ANOTHER signed Don Rosa comic - It's the first published edition of "Hearts in the Yukon" - the full story, from September 1st 1995. In mint condition! And here's the kicker - I paid $2.49 for it. That's roughly Kr. 14. I bet you're tearing your hair out right now...but that's the thing. Even though he's HUGE in Europe - and best Duck comic artist and storyteller (in my opinion) - no one know's who the hell he is over here. Why? The Disney contract...but yeah, I won't get into it since it's irrelevant to this thread...just saw my name so I thought I'd reply ;)

You got to sell me some of his signed stuff on the cheap/sly/q.t./down-lo one of these days, man!

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
But the mattress I made out of them all is so comfy!!!

After the closing of LucasArts, the future of Star Wars games was up in the air. Today, Electronic Art acquired exclusive rights from The Walt Disney Company to develop and publish games set in that galaxy far, far away.

EA's rights will be for developing Star Wars titles for the core gaming demographic while Disney will retain certain rights to mobile, social, tablet and online games.

“Every developer dreams of creating games for the Star Wars universe,” said EA Labels President Frank Gibeau. “Three of our top studios will fulfill that dream, crafting epic adventures for Star Wars fans. DICE and Visceral will produce new games, joining the BioWare team which continues to develop for the Star Wars franchise. The new experiences we create may borrow from films, but the games will be entirely original with all new stories and gameplay.”

No financial information has been released so it's unclear how much it cost EA to acquire the rights to Star Wars.

I knew EA was going to take it. I am uncertain how I feel EA will do to Star Wars games but I hope EA gives it to Bioware division and let them do SW. They did a fantastic job with Star Wars The Old Republic the 1st one. Wait and see.
