Is it possible that Regan received her box from Cross after it was stolen from Ellis? I get theimpression that Malloy did NOT trust Regan. Ergo, he sends the box to Ellis, it's stolen by the NSA thugs, Cross gives it to Regan who gives it to Tex making her look a bit angelic, innocent of any shennanigans (which we now know to be false) thus making Tex trust her. As far as Fitz is concerned, he thinks Regan's box came from Malloy and Ellis' box is a probable fake. This is all designed to spread confusion and make it difficult for Tex to track down the real culprits. For example, he's shocked at the end to find out Regan is in cahoots with Cross.

Then again, I may want to take a double shot of peach schnapps and call my doctor in the morning.

Wow we all remember it differently. From memory Regan never had a box. Malloy only gave boxes to those he knew he could trust with his life, and he didn't trust his daughter. Boxes went to (as far as I can recall)

Jackson Cross I think took Archie's box and gave it to Regan as they were in cahoots. Regan used it to show Tex and make him think she was a true recipient.

But now what I want to know is, how on earth did Oliver Edsen find out where the ship was before the rest did from the Panora Device?

Remember Tex found Edsen's body at the Mayan ruins?

I've wondered that, too, Cub. But Edsen was obviously as interested in the whole conspiracy as Ellis and Witt, and actually had the wherewithal to get off his duff and go down to the area. Since Malloy knew the location and we know Witt had interest in the area as pertained to alien influence, it's not too great a leap that Edsen would have eventually found the spot if he had a general idea. The question is - what killed him? I always regretted not seeing a bit more of or knowing a bit more about Edsen.

As to Regan having a box, Malloy's disc confirms that she received one in addition to Ellis. Ellis's box did not actually contain a part of the device, but Regan's did. That's what makes Cross's accusation about "selling out her own father" more chilling - Malloy trusted that his daughter would not let the secret out.

Edsen was killed by a collapse in the tunnel in the mayan temple. He was crushed. Very unfortunate.

Sheesh. And I call myself a Tex Murphy fan.

I just get so used to seeing him dead there that I don't listen for Tex's dialogue anymore. Is it not odd, though, that the collapse happened at a dead end (at least in the game), where Edsen happened to be for some reason? Any explanation?

Maybe it wasn't a dead end before the collapse ? Maybe some mayan trap ?

The possibility of a Mayan trap is what I was getting at. In that case, Tex should be glad that Edsen had gone before and (inwittingly) defuse it. What might Edsen have seen to entice him? Was it an optical illusion of a UFO that led to the trap?
