"Tex Murphy - Project Fedora" is now live on Kickstarter.
I'm just thinking though, with respect to that $10k pledge, I have a feeling Jane Jensen pledged that one. We'll probably never know, but it's interesting to see Chris and Aaron backing her project because that's the ONLY project they're backing. I'd love it if she was.Trilaan wrote:Ummmmm....it's only been up for less than 2 hours and has already reached....nearly 10% of the total goal? Holy...
I just hope that the pledges are legitimate. You do realise that no money changes hands until June 16?
That pitch is pretty damn awesome, one of the best I've seen. Given that this is likely the quality of the game, its really does show the potential we have here.
I'm very worried about the DLC stuff though, it can be a huge problem with backlash at retail.. but we'll see.
I'm a bit sad that the beta-test entry point is $250(+$20 shipping), given my background I could've really helped in this role.. I'd love to donate that kind of money, but I'll have to check to see if I can spare it.
(naturally this is a lot more than I initially stated I'd give, however having the design documents for Pandora is something I am REALLY interested in).
I'm shocked that the price is $15 for entry into the game, I would've preferred them go with $30 given that it means they'll have to sell a LOT more copies of the game to make it profitable (I mean a new title is usually what $50-$60.. so $30 would be more fairer.. but $15 is a steal lol).
Either way, given the quality of the pitch, and not so much reliance on promises, or their reputations.. I think this deserves to make a lot more than Schafer did.. if it doesn't.. then my faith in the gaming community will have diminished entirely because it'd be a really bad double standard. But I'm 100% positive this'll be a huge success.
This pitch is great, it shows us the entire process of the film element of the game, both in terms of final product and behind the scenes and shows us that yes there actually IS something in place and its being worked on.
Also seeing an updated Chandler Avenue was SOOoo freaking awesome. And also seeing Chris as Tex again... I mean wow..
Anyway there's my concerns and my positive feedback towards this. If I can manage to get the funds together to participate in the beta I will. Being able to QA this would be an amazing opportunity and put my abilities to the test.

That would be keen. Solidarity, brothers and sisters of the gaming world!Joel wrote:I'm just thinking though, with respect to that $10k pledge, I have a feeling Jane Jensen pledged that one. I've been idling for years and just following in the shadows, but this struck a note that made me immediately send a PM to AC and CJ via Kickstarter.my voice just wrote:DLC stuff also have me concerned... the content must be equal for everyone, i think (no, i`m not socialist)
DLC is the new three-letter f-word (along with FMV)
Having DLC at the 150$+ tier may deter lower pledges, and lets face it, we NEED them.
They should remove DLC or make it non game content (not that I know what's left to give...).
I personally will be donating enough to get the DLC, but I'd hate to think we are losing backers over this
