Kickstarter Campaign Graphics (Avatars, Signatures & More)
Yes, they look great... any chance you can do versions will a little less JPEG compression so they will look better blown up. I noticed that on some of the the text looks great, but the graphics (like the silhouette with the montage of images inside) won't hold up too well as higher exports. If not, that's ok... just seeing really.Sai wrote:Thanks. Glad they'll be useful. Hope they look OK on paper.
I updated the PDF files slightly, just to remove a full stop that was bugging me

Sadly I had to source images from the web so they already had JPEG compression going on whereas the text was mostly typed direct into the document so it'll be pristine. I did run some De-Noise filters over the screenshots but the more its done the less detail. If anyone has high res screenshots suitable for printing I can use let me know.
How much do you wish to blow it up? I had a go taking it into a vector software and doing an auto-trace then sizing that up to "movie poster" size (according to Google anyway). Then I've took that into Photoshop and blurred it very slightly then gone over a lot of it with smudge and soften brushes to blend things (as vectors come out as hard edged shapes). Its not photographic quality still and loses detail but I think it makes it have a soft and smooth oil painting-esque appearance now which might be more pleasing than the JPEG artefacting.
Now I've got a bigger version I'll post a poster-size soon.
If there's a request to do so I'll also do this for the first flyer design.
Here's a comparison:

I just realised the software also does JPEG compression when exporting to PDF, so I've set that to Maximum Image Quality / lowest compression too instead of Minimum.

Posters
Not too sure how these'll look but since I spent the time upscaling the montage thingy I thought I'd put these larger size ones together. Be sure to do a test print first or ask for a preview if possible as different printers have different settings.

Smallest 8 x 10 Inches Poster (8mb)
Small 11 x 17 Inches Poster (14mb)
Medium 18 x 24 Inches Poster (27mb)
Large 27 x 41 Inches Lenticular Movie Poster (60mb)
Wallpapers
Also some wallpapers:

1024 x 768 | 1600 x 1200 | 1920 x 1200

Awesome Work Sai...
I really like these two... How easy is it to edit the Text on it???
I'd like to use this as my Flyer for my local Game stores and any other places I may try to advertise and I think it would be easier on the potential donator if there were a web address on it that would take them directly to the Kickstarter page...
I realize that we don't have that web address right now, which is why I'm asking how easy it is to edit the picture and input it once May 15th comes around...

Excellent work!
Remember that people don't have attention spans anymore. That's hard to fight against. It needs to be easy to read, succinct, and clear. Don't use too many images or too much text at once. It has to be sharp enough to burn into people's retinas.
You all might want to try and agree on 1 or 2 best designs and use only those. That way, if a person glances at the image several times in different places, it should "stick" better than having a dozen very different ones.
Steve Jobs can explain it better than I.

But that's just my 2 cents. To me, marketing is about values. This is a very complicated world, it’s a very noisy world. And we’re not going to get the chance to get people to remember much about us. No company does. So we have to be really clear on what we want them to know about us.
I think the montage logo one works best for that since at a glance you just see the logo which is striking and memorable, but for those who have the time to look further they get the bigger picture. Plus the blurb text is softly blended in the background so just the main headers stand out (e.g. the kickstarter date). I think the blurb is handy for those who have no idea about Tex and may be more inclined to find out more if they know its a game series with some themes they enjoy but its easy to delete parts of the text if anyone needs it. Or if someone just wants the logo without the montage etc..

You're welcome, glad they're useful, hope they look OK printed, do a test print first. If you're waiting to spread them when the Kickstarter is live in May I'll be adding the Kickstarter link to the designs when it is up so you'll need to redownload when that happens.Lindhorst wrote:Wow! These are really, REALLY great. I will be downloading your enhanced files and printing them up soon. I don't want to start putting them out too early before the Kickstarter date, so maybe around the first week of May. Thanks so much for putting the time into these.

actually, you could use something like
tinyurl.com/texisback
tinyurl.com/bringbacktex
tinyurl.com/texmurphy
or just
tinyurl.com/dangerislikejellotheresalwaysroomformore
in the designs already
just don`t forget to make real link (when it`ll be available) through this service and add custom alias to make it work
double fine did this with tinyurl.com/doublekick in their videos
