Oh I have Dunkin' Donuts too, but I didn't really think of Dunkin' Donuts as Fast Food, just thought of it as Coffee like Starbucks... But since they are starting to sell Pizza and Sandwiches and whatnot, I guess they are trying to enter the Fast Food chain...

I was wondering if YesterDave's is still there in Albuquerque. I think it was on Menaul near Eubank N.E. next to Gardunio's. I used to go there almost every day when I lived in ABQ.

Also, what about The Owl Cafe and the Route 66 Diner? The Owl was a very cool building, shaped like an owl. Inside, it had a big wrap-around counter with fountain service and counter-top juke-boxes. The Route 66 was sort of a small version of YesterDave's. Or I should say, YesterDave's was a big version of the Route 66.

I loved those places.
Dr. Paul-Yesterdave's closed...oh...probably at least five or six years ago. Used to be about five minutes from my house. It's been replaced by a Chinese Bistro of some sort; I've never eaten there.

I believe the Owl Cafe is still around, and I KNOW Route 66 Diner is still around. Very good milkshakes. I like to go there so I can put their hat racks to good use with my fedoras.

I have to admit....green chile will be one of the BIGGEST things I will miss about New Mexico when I move. I practically grew up on green chile.

To be honest, I get a couple of sacks of Big Jim's sent to me each year :).

I love that place! Not much of it here in the southern states. I miss that.

That's actually a toughie

Where I live there's Mcdonalds and that's it
At work, I'm not sure if they count, but there's a Pret a Manger and Eat, although they're more sandwich shops. If they don't count, there isn't anything that fits the bills - it's all restaurants and sandwich shops.

It's interesting to see who has what nearby - half of them I've never heard of

We don't have Dunkin Doughnuts here, but I remember seeing a bloke wearing a shirt with the same logo (font and colours as well), but instead it said 'f**ckin' gonuts!'. Come to think of it, someone was wearing a Subway shirt (same deal, the font and colours and all) only is said "Zombie... Eat Flesh!"... funny stuff.

Also, we used to have quite a few Taco Bells here, but they have all since disappeared, dunno why... I think most Aussies associate fast mecian food as Speedy Gonzales in a burger.

In Adelaide there is McDonalds, Hungry Jacks (owned by Burger King US. Burger King in Australia is actually a different chain btw Cub and I think exists in Melbourne.)

There's also KFC, Nandos (Mexican Food, very big here).

Pizza wise we've got a war going on between Domino's, Pizza Hut and Pizza Haven, they all seem to be doing pretty bad.. lots of closures across the board, Pizza Hut shut down all its eat in restaurants, they are now vandalized by hoodlums, they only have 1 actual restaurant which is their biggest.

We've got Subway here too, Donut King, I think theres a Crispy Cream here too, trying to find out where the fork it is since the guys from work keep bringing them in. We've also got a few Dunk'n Donuts.

We've got Wendy's here too.

Starbucks just moved in not that long ago.. Very scared :( Adelaide is too small for a starbucks IMO, plus Hudson has like 3 branches right next door to each other.. next we'll have a bloody coffee war :(

We've got a fish fast food chain called Barnacle Bill's here in Adelaide, we've also got a place called Fasta Pasta which does take away food, their stuff is pretty exceptional.

We've got a lot of Wok places here, Wok in a box, Quick Stix, ect ect.. though they all taste like crap :D - blame that on my stomach hating anything Eastern.

There is also a Balfour's bakery in Adelaide, make some really nice food there, they shut down their main restaurant 3 years ago which is a pitty but they've got a place near by my work still. There's also a Villie's here in Adelaide too which is always packed with people, some of the best baked food I've ever had.

There's also this place called Australian Pizza house, they're like a Niche Pizza house, excellent prices. They make specialty pizzas, but they taste so good and are really cheap if you don't get anything too exotic.

There are also plenty of local places to get fast food at. The guy that makes my pizza around the corner from my place is a bit like Louie LaMintz :D.

But by far the best food in Adelaide will always be a pub meal :D

Krispy Kreme.............

Man, I'm glad that it's like 30 miles away from where I live or I would seriously weigh 200 lbs.
Get them hot, or take then home and nuke it for 8 seconds.

Delicious.

We had Krispy Kreme in Albuquerque at one time. The closest store to me was right next to a Defined Fitness.

Anyway, they screwed up their finances here and went bankrupt. The two stores that were in Abq closed several years ago.

I agree... That's why I asked... lol I was interested... So many of them I've never heard of...

We've got Sandwich Shops out the rear as well, especially if you go down into the City... Every Block there is some sort of Sandwich shop or something that you could just grab and go... Everyone in a hurry these days, just grab and go... In fact I think we may have a Deli named just that, "Grab N Go"...

Actually Pizza Hut is doing quite well. The reason why they shut down pretty much all their eat in restaurants is becuase they don't return as much of a profit as the dial-in pickup places. Hence why in most states there is 1 dine-in left standing (in Sydney you will find it in George Street, but not sure about the other states), mostly for novelty value.

How do I know this you may ask? Beacuase I used to work for them way back when. Not as a delivery boy, but I worked at the call centre which serviced all of NSW, Queensland and ACT. Not a very fun time, but it was my first job so, meh.

Pizza Hut??? I can think of 3 off the top of my head that I could drive to inside 20 minutes and sit down to eat... I haven't noticed them dying out... I do know that they are trying to push their Delivery though, they advertise for it like crazy... They say if your food isn't out in 20 minutes you get half off your bill... I've only been lucky enough to get that once... lol

I'm pretty sure with all this pizza war crap going on its next to impossible that any of the 3 main pizza companies are making any money :D its so ruthlessly competitive, its gotten to the point where I prefer eating at the local guys, sure it costs a little bit extra but at least I don't have a guilty conscious knowing that perhaps these mega corps are ruining what is great about pizza.

Definitely need more places to find food :D Pubs are easiest to find food at since all over Australia they are like 3 meters apart from each other :D, blame that on the common pie eating foot ball watching moron Australian stereotypes that power the whole alcohol economy here in Australia which IMO is a very very big problem even if it is basically the Australian identity in its entirety :P.

Wish I could do that. The "local" pizza where I live is awful. I came from an area with a high concentration of Italians. Great pizza everywhere. But here in Louisiana, no one knows how to make pizza. I order from Pizza Hut all the time now! I never thought I would.
