Wow, I totally have to disagree myself on the Harrison looking old front. He's not like he was in the older movies, but he's damn close, just by watching the previews. Then again, maybe the whole illusion of swinging on a whip and landing in the front seat of a truck thing is influencing my decision. Didn't he do his own stunts in this movie? To a point I mean ...

OK. Shoot me.
I admit I am a fan of Indiana Jones. The idea of 'cliff hanger' stories and adventures is just the bees knees to me. I can remember going to the movies and watching the Saturday afternoon matinées with cartoons and shorts. (You know one has to be older to do this.) Hop Along Cassidy and Roy Rogers were just some of the characters on the screen.
I love reliving my youth. But sadly, one has to also be realist enough to know, this escapism action film will not fly. Harrison Ford is older than I am. (Take HF out of the picture and this franchise has nothing.)
I want Tex Murphy to go forward. The games were cutting edge. But the spirit of the characters of Indiana Jones and Tex Murphy has to be able to take wing by its own strength within the context of the original story.
Having posted this, our hero awaits his fate. (Suddenly the door of the cell bursts open. In rushes a tall dark stranger wearing a fedora.)
"OK. Who's the wise guy saying I can't cut it? You young whipper-snapper, when I was your age I was busy savin' the world from evil."
Fade to black.

I can't really remember much from the older Indiana Jones movies...the snake pit and the big ball in the cave...oh, and raiders of the last ark for atari..that game was sweet.

Well, I don't know what JTOG thinks about HF's age. But it seems to me HF's advancing age is not as apparent to you younger guys as it is to us old folks. Maybe it takes one to see one.

I´m really looking forward to Indys´ new movie. It´s cool to see one of my childhood heroes coming back to the big screen. I think the trailer looks really good, and pretty much just like you´d expect an Indy film to be.
Concerning Fords age: Well of course he looks a bit different now but in the long run who cares? He´s the only Indiana Jones there can be, so it´s good they didn´t wait till he is 75.
Did you notice that there ist a trend in Hollywood today, that young actors get a lot of the roles that were still played by older ( and a lot better and way more charismatic actors) ten years ago.
Many of them don´t have any kind of edge or depth that a really good actor should have, and many of the really big acting legends have to play roles that can´t much up with their previous work, simply because they´re not getting too many good scripts anymore. I ´d like to see a whole film carried by Pacino or De Niro today, so they can really use their strenghts.
But back to young/old situation:
Ford is a good example for that, in the Jack Ryan films he was replaced by Ben Affleck!!!
I mean seriously I´d never wanna see a film in which Jack Ryan as I knew him is replaced by someone like Ben Affleck. I´m so glad they never got to the point of doing an Indyfilm without Ford- I definately would have boycotted that because Ford is Indy as well as Pacino is Michael Corleone or Chris Jones is Tex Murphy- So the next few months will be hard to wait but it will be worth it!

I agree with the Doc. Does HF really look that old? If that is the case, you'll never see a current pic of myself.

Ah go on Jim, we're all friends here anyway
Impressive that he continues to do his own stunts.
Sad as I am, I freeze framed the clip from the trailer where HF was swinging back towards the truck and that def wasn't him when he was looking to his right; though to give him credit, he was in the beginning and end parts of the stunts.
