BTW, the scientific name for the Lima bean is very interesting. If I'm not mistaken, by rearranging a few letters you come up with Flatulence. Hmmm.

The connection to the thread? Simple. A shameless way to try to prolonge a thread, that at this point, will never go away, with one simple word, randomly chosen, due to this author's inability to be creative. This thread will be around five years from now, on page 276 or higher, simply because ... Just ... cause. If I can't have the last word, then you can't have it either.

And yeah, Wintermute, I guess I just assumed that it was clear that Tommy was just stretching this never-ending thread out. I know it's the longest thread that I've ever participated in. It will soon be the longest thread in board history, I do declare.

Hm, maybe I expected too much.

The thing is, that in this message board seem to linger a bunch of very intelligent people (seriously!) who are very good with words and word-plays.
Since English is not my mother language it is sometimes challenging for me to follow some of the more sophisticated sentences and other times I expect some cleverly constructed puns which I don't get - even if there was none.

It must be rough to not know whether you're missing a joke or not. It's one thing to know that you're missing it, but to not even know--that must be tough. I know I've been there in some countries, although when folks start laughing, even if it's at me, I just join in.

Actually when you are talking directly to other people it is much easier since you can deduce from their behaviour if they are serious or not - but on the internet you have to rely on the written word.

I once did a two months internship in Spain. So at the beginning my Spanish was virtual non-existand and right at the first evening the company department were I worked had a lunch together. After eating the guys starting telling joke after joke and everyone around was laughing.
From the jokes I understood... nada! Was really strange a strange experience.
