Tesla Effect Premiere
I just want to thank Cub and the good folks at BFG for giving us a chance to spy on the people roaming the hallway to the Tesla Effect Premiere on this sunday night. It was fun to see everyone all decked out (well, almost everyone), enjoying themselves on this momentous occasion. The ladies looked great, the guys looked pimp, the tie was glorious, the scarf made a nice appearance... we got to see plenty of the people behind the game. Special thanks to Adrian Carr who answered a couple of questions for us.
We got to learn that, appenrently, Tex is quite long.
We got a good look at a magnificent necklace.
My favorite comment from a fellow Twitch attendee: (to my question "Now, which is Path C?") The Path with hot girls.
There was plenty of drink-induced joviality. Wonder if there's gonna be a Cub pulling tonight...
Now, it's time to start a Kickstarter to procure a tux for Chris Jones. Who's with me?

I agree it was nice to have a peek at everybody in their finery (except those scruffs and you know who I mean).
Adrian is always a gentleman, taking time out to speak the fans and make a fuss of them and he always deserves special thanks for that.
My scarf was truly drunk after that dipping of champagne in Redcat's glass but apparently behaved itself quite nicely.
Whilst being on the Twitch stream had all those good points, it also made me feel more far away than I cared to feel at times.
But hey, a few wisecracks were made, quite a few people were very kind and came over to talk to us rather than leaving us hanging and all in all I'd say it was a great success.
Thanks Cub for including us (cos I know it was you that did the organising, as usual).

It was a cool event, with plenty of nice people and some sweet footage from the cutscenes.
Effectively a short Tex Murphy film, mostly.
I got to play the game a bit from the beginning and it will definitely bring nostalgia and smiles. There are some nice remastered, from the original Beta tapes, FMVs from prior games peppered throughout at the very least Tex's office.
Texture quality is the same as what is found in the Demo, so temper your expectations. Clearly not bad but does exhibit a relatively lower fidelity appearance than many current titles.
All the FMVs looked great.
The version I was playing was the most recent beta build with the debug mode on.
One could see typical stats and which path you were on. Ryan informed me that this would not be in the final build.
Lots of cheers and a little tomfoolery. Much of the BFG crew and heavy hitting backers were a tight group.
My overall impressions of the game are very positive and I think that most folks will be very pleased as well.
Best regards,
KvE
PS In my defense I received an invitation that morning and I had to do some scruffy work before the event. I definitely debated on on whether to head home to change but then I would have missed the big cinema reveal.
I was the interloper in the turquoise polo and navy over shirt, sorry folks no disrespect.

Politics is like a corral. No matter where you are you will always be shoveling it.
It was so great to see you guys on the Twitch stream so we could talk to you and share it with everyone. It was such a fun night and Tex on the big screen was awesome.
One of the highlights for me was seeing so many familiar names in the credits and knowing how much support everyone has collectively put into this one way or another. Pamela called Todd Bridges on her phone too so we all shouted a hello to him too.
What a great night and what a great future Tex has. He is in very safe hands.
Claudia your scarf had a great night and I'm flying it home with me.

It was lots of fun and we took lots of pictures. It was wonderful being able to watch Tex and then immediately be able to talk to each other about it. It definitely felt like a family reunion.
I do have to call out somebody. I was talking to Adrian Carr and he went on about what a wonderful, special night it was how it wouldn't have happened without all of us. Dude made me cry. Darn him. I was trying to keep it together, and he ambushes me with sweet words.

It's totally true, though. Tex fans are without a doubt the best in the world. No one else could have pulled it off. There may not be that many, but their dedication made it happen.sam10100 wrote:It was lots of fun and we took lots of pictures. Hey guys. I don't have much else to say that hasn't been said already. I am very grateful to Cub to include us fans for the event. It was great to see all of our friends huddled around the webcam smiling and clinking glasses. While 30 some-odd of us were huddled around our computers on the other side of the webcam. Some old friends and some new. Its a big family here. Someone was saying on the facebook page that the money he donated didn't really matter. I totally agree with that statement. It will be things like the upcoming days between playing a new game and sharing our excitement on here that makes it all worth it. Anywho, thanks guys. Later.
