This makes me think we won't be getting the option of a STEAM key since I have access to the bonus materials via GOG. I really want it off STEAM.
Dude, I said I have only one video card. I'm not running windows natively. I'm a linux user. I can either run the program through wine or through a winxp box through vmware. VMware does not allow for installing nvidia drivers. It allows for a pseudo-passthrough of native hardware through the use of vmware tools which creates a sort of wrapper to the actual hardware, allowing 3d acceleration. The game is programmed badly, because it should not depend solely on an nvidia control panel. As Stanny said earlier, it isn't specific to nvidia as it applies to intel graphics as well. This isn't a bink video problem as I verified the player functions perfectly on its own. This is the tesla exe making an improper call for the bink video player.
Thanks for the link plumgas, downloading now
At any rate, the trailer is awesome! Ergo, the game will be terrific. Finally! After all those years of 'keeping the faith' we finally have been rewarded for our patience and diligence.

You're welcome ;)

Also, green screen issues with Intel graphics, try this link for updating drivers:

Played it a bit tonight and loved it!! Classic tex can't wait for the final product. Never thought I'd ever get the experience of a new tex game again.

Ran perfectly on my alienware x51 with geforce gtx555 on win 7 with no issues.

"Smart Alex" isn't as bad as I thought it might be bit I hope it's dropped in any future games.
The demo is awesome! Mixing the old atmosphere with new technology.

Never thought I'd have a new experience after so many years. Can't wait for the full version.
To follow up, I fixed my green screen issue related to the integrated graphics card on my Toshiba laptop. At first I was trying to "update" the drivers by downloading the latest drivers from Intel and installing those. It told me it wouldn't allow that and I had to download the latest custom drivers from the Toshiba website. Those drivers where old & didn't fix the issue.

I ended up "replacing" the driver by first uninstalling my current driver in Device Manager. This reboots the computer and makes the graphics driver to be a Standard Microsoft Driver. At this point when I downloaded the latest drivers from Intel and installed them it let me do it and it fixed the green screen issue.
so glad it worked out for you, enjoy the demo

I recently finished the DEMO, which I download with no faith that it will work on my notebook. Especially when I ordered new notebook mainly due to Tesla Effect today (before downloading of demo) :P .

I adjusted the resolution on1024x768 with medium details, started game and was surprised how playable the game is (not smooth, but reasonable playable). Therefore I increased details on HIGH and finished demo but with feeling that graphic will be weak point of the game.

I increased resolution on MAXIMUM (to see what to expect with new PC and if promo video shoved us reality) and I was surprised how graphic quality improved (much more than I expected).

I think, it will be really good game, but without of “WOW” effect of UAKM or PD in that times.

PS: My notebook is 2GHz dual core with on board graphic card (f.e. Alan Wake is not playable in low-low graphic adjustment)
I wonder why they overstated the minimum requirements on GOG and Steam. It sort of defeats the purpose of making a game that runs on older hardware when you tell people it won't work, huh?

Maybe it's just for support reasons?

Actually, the min-spec requirements are pretty accurate... Any older card, while in terms of raw power may be able to run the game, certain technologies required to run the video decompression may not exist on either the hardware itself or the driver set for that particular hardware. In general, min spec does not always necessarily mean you can't run at decent framerates, it can also mean you are not guaranteed to have the correct technology to run other components of the game. Think back to the early 2000s when many games would not run on cards that did not support Pixel Shaders 2.0. While on paper many cards were more than capable, if they did not have PS2.0 you would not be able to run the game, period.

In fairness min-spec for graphic cards is difficult to communicate because there's not really a minimum "number" (i.e. a 520 might be worse than a 390 or whatever), but no they're not really accurate. People are running this on integrated intel cards just fine, with a little bit of driver struggles. I saw it run perfectly well on a 7 year old GeForce 8800 as well, two generations behind the minimum required, and keep up a good frame rate to boot.

The minimum RAM requirement is higher than it needs to be as well, but this is OS dependent. If you're on Windows XP, 2GB should be fine.

Once again, it's not just the game engine that needs to perform well, it is also the video. The way the hardware buffer works for rendering the video, it depends heavily on available RAM. The less RAM available when the game is running, the more stutter and sync issues the video will have. For example: 2GB would mean about 1GB would probably be taken up by Windows and other services in your average computer. Leaving about 1GB for the game. While certain levels of Tesla Effect may not use 100% of this remaining 1GB of RAM, in a scene that gets close, your pool of available RAM to use as a video buffer is greatly decreased. The end result is stutter and sync issues.
