Pre ordering Tesla Effect

Hello all, sorry if my question sounds stupid coz it's been years since I last played any computer game .

I would like to pre-order Tesla Effect. I know that I can get it either from GOG or STEAM. Are they basically just different sites for your to download to your PC and play? Or are they an online platform where you must sign in to play the game?

Thanks in advance!

Alan
GOG you download and go! No DRM, no log in. Redownload as you need to another machine.

Steam MAY have some log in requirements. We don't know all the specifics yet. It was promised DRM free, but I'm not sure 100% of what Steam is going to require.

Pull the trigger on GOG for sure! They've got some nice pre-order goodies.
I agree with Jen - with GOG it's guaranteed DRM free etc. Steam apparently like to impose their own DRM on games, so it may restrict you trying to play if you want to play offline - we'll have to see when it's released.

That said, I'm sure some here would vote for Steam, but my vote is also GOG.

Steam doesn't impose anything. It's the developers/publishers choice to include the DRM. My guess is it will be DRM free. Even if it's not, you don't need to sign in to Steam, as you can play in offline mode with no Internet connection at all.

In my opinion, Steam is far superior to GOG, if for no other reason than patches will be installed automatically. On GOG you need to download patches yourself (assuming you even know that one is available).
Hi thanks to all, I think I will go with GOG. Good to see Tex again very soon!
