Nothing!!!
Three days of no activity. This is horrible. Come on folks, nobody has got anything to say about anything going on in the world?
How about some help?
Malala didn't win the Nobel Peace Prize. I agree the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons certainly deserved it and she was young. However, I feel her bravery in the face of death was amazing. I truly hope her crusade continues on for education.
Another Batman movie? Do we really need one of those again? Are the Hollywood writers on strike or just phoning it at at this point?
Is this shutdown personally affecting you yet? I've been okay but I am worried for my friends. Makes you wonder how can it be so hard for people to do their damn job. If I acted like this, my bosses would certainly fire me.
Anybody see Big Bang Theory last night? What did you think of Amy's commentary regarding Raiders of the Lost Ark. I was impressed. I always suspected Little House on the Prairie was stretching stuff.
Sex? Drugs? Rock ' Roll? Anything? Anybody?

My mushy brain doesn't follow all the intricacies of politics all that well, even the politics of my own country, which is pretty complicated right now too, but isn't it always? I never follow it very well, but I do laugh at the televised broadcasts of our government's house of commons meetings, reminds me of kids trying to one-up each other in the school playground.

However from the perspective of a layman clueless British person, the American government shutdown was certainly a surprise on the news here. It's surprising how much "red tape" can impact things. I can't really imagine what it'd be like for the government to "shutdown" here. It's rather surreal. It's good that it's not affecting your day to day lives right now though. And as always the internet can find humour in everything:

I think the latest incarnation of superhero movies is pretty cool actually. There's been a slew of comic book superhero action movies in recent years and I wasn't really interested in them that much. But I like the different angle they've given to the recent Batman films and Man of Steel etc.
I really like The Big Bang Theory but I haven't been keeping up with it, I just don't watch TV much anymore, mostly watch stuff online like Youtube, Twitch etc. (can't afford stuff like Netflix unfortunately). I'm sure even if I was to catch up on Freeview TV here, we're probably way behind the US in terms of episode numbering.
Good luck Joel, I hope you get the job!

Honestly, the government shut down has to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.
It is pretty sad when children have better problem solving skills than the American Government.
No offense to any Americans here, as I am blaming their Government here, and not them.
Unfortunately, we as Canadians, cannot help but laugh at this..... although we do feel terrible for all the middle class and low income families who are affected the most by this. This is not fair to them in anyway, and is just another kick in the face to these people who are barely getting by as it is.
As for a new Batman film, this is not a new Batman film. It is a new Superman film and is officially the sequel to Man of Steel, with Batman as a guest Superhero facing off with Superman. Both series were written by the same team, so it is only natural. Not sure I agree with Ben Affleck being cast as Batman, but I guess we will see. As for right now, it is just a rumour that Bryan Cranston is cast as Lex Luthor, but I think he would be great in the role.
On a side note, here is a cool short documenting 75 yrs of Superman, made by Zak Snyder and company.

I totally understand other countries laughing at us. We let some crazy jerks who don't really care about the country and only about their political agendas cause this train wreck to happen. Hopefully somebody takes them out back and knocks some sense into them.
Just glad we can finally move on and get back in business.

And finally, Americans can get some semblance of basic health care.
To all Americans that are fearful of this.... It honestly is not as bad as you think. We have this in Canada, and the impact on taxes is not that big. If anything, it creates jobs, because more people will be using the health care system and because more people are using it, the cost of health care will level off. You won't have these "businesses" price gouging. Here, in Canada, there are regulatory bodies, that regulate pricing for this reason, which I imagine will be eventually implemented when this takes off.
Trust me.... it will create a much brighter future in the long run for everyone. You won't have to worry about dying because you can't afford health care and you won't be in financial ruin from having a baby or getting a terminal disease.
Anyway, enough of that.
No comments about the Superman Sequel or vid I posted??
