Pandora issue - Mayan temple bug?

Hi all, so I'm on Day 9, and roaming around the Mayan temple. I'm trying to solve the puzzle for the wasp room and after a bit of dying, I finally looked up how it's done, and discovered I need to combine the lantern with the handkerchief, but I have a bit of a problem with that. I already combined the lantern with the hemp rope and made a primitive fuse, and now I no longer have my lantern. Unfortunately I've already saved since and I'm not sure what I can do. Can anyone help me?
Make sure you check through your inventory... You should have enough Lantern Oil for both Combinations...

I've never encountered this problem before and I've combined both ways, the Hemp Rope first and the Hanky first, never had a problem... Do a thorough check of your inventory...
If you are still missing it, then you may end up having to restart from a save point that's a little further back than you might want to go, but sadly that's the way Adventure Games are sometimes...

I looked very thoroughly through my inventory, and the rest of the temple, but no luck. All I can think of that I did weird was I combined the lantern directly with the rope, instead of getting the oil from it first.
Unfortunately, I didn't keep my older saves like a smart gamer, so I would have to restart the game from the beginning. Since I'm so close, I may just Youtube the endings...

It is a design flaw where you can get stuck.

Really??? I've never experienced losing an inventory item in any of the Tex games... Don't imagine it's a fun time...

Yeah, in Adventure Games like this you want to probably keep at least 3 or so Saved Games... Always Saving whenever you enter a New Area, especially if you're not sure you'll be able to go back to the previous area...

At the top of the page on this website {under the GOG banner} are a selection of Tabs, one of them says "Downloads"... Hover your mouse over that for the drop down menu and you should see an option for Saved Games at the bottom... See if anything in there might help you out...

Yeah, it's an inventory item that has two uses, but the game doesn't realize this, when used on one item. The downside of downsizing.
